Oh look someone dropped to the ground crying in pain and oh yeah, the other guy didn't touch him... Yeah, I tried watching soccer a couple of years ago... Hours of watching, one goal... But lots of fake writhing in pain...

Soccer is a little kids game.

However, soccer is a correct metaphor for the world--lots of running around, lots of stupid, drunken behavior, lots noise, very little scoring or productive and desperately, desperately wanting to be accepted by the United States of America.

This is why I don't watch. Maybe it's an American thing, but I want to see results, not just a bunch of guys running back and forth. Can you imagine a basketball game that ended up with a 2-0 score? Or a football (not futbol) game ending 7-0, or worse yet, 3-0? Meh.

Yeah, three hours of baseball is simply riveting....thank God they now have instant replay so the games can last even longer.

Lol love all the repsonses, none are suprising. At least with soccer there is always something going on. With football it's 5 seconds of play followed by 5 minutes of commercials. A 60 minute game last 4 hours somehow. I'm glad espn is showing all the games online so I can watch at work.

I don't watch it much but I can guarantee there's a ton of folks watching it at least in the Columbus area. Went to the new irish pub in town tonight and it was full of folks watching the England/Italy game.

Give it a generation or 2 and the game will get more traction in the US.

Yah, like US athletes aren't big babies. All sports in the US have struck for this reason or that. A bunch of spoiled brats, all of them. Give it 10 yrs and college athletes will be the same way.

Soccer is a great sport and growing fast in the US especially with the younger generation. You can get a card for faking a foul buy usually there's contact followed by acting which is not a foul. If you learn the rules you would learn to love the sport. If you would play it, you would understand the strength and endurance needed.
