Where ever my GPS says I am
For years I been thinking of where I would move to. My list is quite short though. I don't know if I will ever move, but right now the city at the top of my list is Nashville, TN. To me, it still has a small town feel to it in the downtown area (Broadway) but yet has year round entertainment and great food. Plus after last Saturday I become a big fan of the Grand Ole Opry (fan of it before, but seen it live for the first time last week). I am not a big country music fan, but like the old style country (not so much of the new style).

I'm currently applying for jobs in Florida. The gun laws are tolerable, the weather is great, no state income tax, and I could SCUBA dive way more frequently.

Kentucky and Tennessee would be fine with me.

For several years, I had "standing orders" to accept any reasonable job offer in the Santa Fe, Albuquerque, or outside of Phoenix. My wife LOVES the southwest, and it was fine with me (its a dry heat).

    But, I'm still here....

"If" for me, I got a few things holding me back for right now. I been at my work for 12 years and I don't know if I would like to start over on the vacation time. Plus it isn't just my decision anymore, though my fiance loved going to the Opry last week, likes Nashville.

I like Nashville because they still get winter, but it is a little warmer climate.

Unless something unforeseen happens, I won't be moving anywhere soon because I'm getting pretty close to retirement at my current employer. So, if I do move, hopefully I'll be choosing a retirement place.

I grew up in Tennessee. I wouldn't mind moving back but it wouldn't be in or near ANY of the big cities. I've lived here longer than anywhere else. I really don't have a desire to move. Southern Indiana is fine with me.

I'd like to be somewhere that never sees snow. I'm so tired of clearing out the driveway after working all day, and looking at my motorcycle just sitting in the garage for months while driving around in a salt covered truck.

We've vacationed at Ft Myers Beach Florida for years, and I'm really comfortable there.

I just moved from SW Georgia to Indiana. Lived in Florida for 15 years and Georgia for 53 years and hope I never go back. The high cost of living will offset the "no state income tax" in Florida and the two seasons are hot & humid and warm & humid. In most of Georgia and Florida the primary language is Spanish. Drug related crimes in rural areas have increased over the last 10 to 15 years to endemic proportions, not even to mention the rise in the urban areas. My wife and I are fortunate to have our same jobs. She works for company in California and travels quite a bit. I teach distant learning courses for the college I was working at in Georgia. We have found the cost of living in Indiana is lower than Georgia and Florida. People here are friendlier and more respectful of their neighbors. Of course there are exceptions. The grass always seems greener............
