    I need a rule clarification

In efforts to upgrade my mossberg 930 to a more 3 gun friendly model I have been looking to get a longer barrel and tube combo

After calling mossberg a few times I have came to the conclusion they really dont care to help me with that plan unless I want to go with a ported barrel....or maybe I just get a bad sales person every time because I've seen on other forums people claim to "custom order" non ported barrels

    Now to my rule clarification

I know that a ported barrel means open div

But if I were to install a safe cover of the ports that would render them useless or disabled... What would the official INMG ruling be?

You could put a piece of metal or something over them and your good to go. As long as they aren't letting gas out to do their job. Of course this is subject to the MD's approval but he'd be a dick if he didn't let it you run it with them covered up and not functioning.

PS The best way to upgrade a Mossy is to sell it and buy a used Benelli M1.

I used a mossberg 930 all season with a piece of steel shim over the ports and under my Nordic clamp. A 28" barrel and a 12 round tube makes for a heavy weapon. It had no issues running on federal bulk pack from Walmart.

What Jesse and Blake said will work. Cover the ports and your good.

I had my 28in field barrel cut down to 24in to eliminate the ports. Rethread for factory chokes and your good to go.

I don't know if they are still doing it, but you can do what I did and order the 24" ventrib turkey barrel w/o ports. It took a lot of work on another sight (Enos' forums) to get them to make it though... Your best bet is to do what Jon did...

Right now its looking like these will be the POTENTIAL changes for 2013. This is NOT set in stone at all, just want to keep our shooters in the loop!

Best 5 of 12 events will be used, with 1 event required at Wildcat, ACC and Hillside, with the remaining 2 events shot at shooters choice of club.

The 2 events added to the schedule at L'Angullie Rifle/Pistol Club will be official INMG events, but for 2013 will not count towards the Series. We will be adding these dates towards the end of the middle of the season.

In an effort to best comply with 3 Gun Nation, the 16 Shootoff slots most likely will be awarded to division champions and the rest is filled in with TO... so, 1 Tac Limited, 1 Open, 1 Heavy Metal Limited, 1 Heavy Tactical, and top 12 TO. Shoot Off Equipment is REQUIRED to be Tac Optics. You can compete in what ever division you want all year, but if you make the shoot off you must use Tac optics equipment.

Addition of Heavy Tactical. 308 minimum for Rifle, 20rds max, 1 MAGNIFIED OPTIC ONLY. 12ga SEMI AUTO 12GA, rules same as Tactical Optics/Limited, 40 S&W Minimum for handgun, 10rd max magazine capacity.

The 2 matches at the new range will be official INMG events, but most likely not part of the Series for this year. They will be test events to see how smooth things run.

Any chance for a .22 rifle/pistol and 12 ga pump fun class? No official timing, placing or prizes, just shooting. It would be a great way to get people started in MG since most shooters will have or can easily get .22's and 12 ga pump? Just a though in all of this craziness.

I'd guess its doubtful. We are already at the range all day. I think it'd be hard to add in people that weren't competing.

Hillside runs a couple 3gun intro/practice sessions though. Informal thing, run what you have.
