Why would anyone for Democrat?

I have been pondering for quite awhile why a person would vote Democrat. I would really like to have an adult conversation of why someone would believe that the Democrats and their values are the right direction for America. Basically, give me your best sales pitch on leftist thinking...

Out of curiosity, I watched as much as I could stand to of the DNC last night. I wanted to get an understanding of the left values and why someone would adopt that way of thinking. I think I lasted about 11 minutes before I turned it off and went to bed. All I heard was special interest group this and racial/gender group that. It was exhausting. No real coverage of the issues, just pandering to certain groups and the continued focus on invented cultural issues.

Pertaining to real policies, Democrats are going to continue to push the erosion of our rights, bad trade deals that put Americans out of work and now an attack on our law enforcement. Nothing I can get behind.

So, what does a millennial do when they don't have the answer, GOOGLE it!

I have a friend that's 48. I grew up with him and have know him since we were 7. He's always voted democrap, and will probably continue to do so for the rest of his life, (probably beyond that as well.) His parents were that way, his grand parents as well. Big time pro union and huge democraps. None of them had ever been able to explain it to me other than 'that's the way our family is' or something along the lines of agreeing with the left's policy of the month, strange thing is they could never tell me in detail what those policies were. I got a lot of typical "working man" stories and how the rich man doesn't deserve what they have and should pay.

This sums it up so much better than I could ever do with words. It's impossible to have a discussion with them about politics. I gave up on that topic a decade ago. The democrap party of today is not even close to what it was 40 years ago.

Because they've been played for generations into believing that the party that appeals to their emotions is the party that will help them, and that the party that provides physical solutions and options is just wanting to oppress them.

The affordable care act perfectly sums up what the party is about. Convince the people it's socialized medicine, when it's nothing more than an insurance company pandering scheme to further the corruption of our economic system.

I firmly believe there are just a few reasons that people vote democrat. The main reason is to vote against republicans. Now think about this. From evolution, to global warming to economics to education....every single area is used to make republicans, conservatives, or anyone else other than democrats, look stupid, evil, crazy, etc. If you dont believe in global warming you are an idiot, same with evolution cuz its "science." Same with education(this is where they do the most damage is on young idiots who believe every word their college professor says, and largely because parents dont drill politics into their kids heads(which they should, we are losing badly by the way). Every single thing is made political by the left, backed up by the media. People are taught that if you dont follow the left, then you are dumb, you are crazy, you are anti science, you are anti everything. Its all to make people hate the other side. They vote democrat because they hate republicans. The other people that vote democrat are actual commnists, and push the party line to keep their jobs(college professors, almost everyone in the media, union workers, etc). They cant articulate why they actually want democrats in office, they just "Know" that the republicans are evil because they are racists, anti science, etc. Liberals just have no idea why they actually believe what they do, but its their religion. They dont have God, they dont believe in life, they arent happy, they are miserably angry people that idolize their political candidates. THATS ALL THEY TRULY BELIEVE IN. Its easy to see why so many people are so brainwashed when you look at our school systems and the media. Gov't creates the problem, blames conservatives, then says only they can fix it. They are simple, closed minded bigots, and they are the true racists. The real problem is there is no changing their minds because they cant be honest.

The squarely baffling part of this to me is that democrats never propose a solution to any of these problems. They raise the topic, talk about how horrible X is, then move on to something else.

Then when they legislate on X, they find a way to make it a "legal" money laundering scheme.

Global warming is a perfect example of this. How many times have democrats ever got on stage and gave a detailed point by point plan that WILL actually have a measurable impact on the climate?

What if for you the single most important issue in any election was universal, taxpayer funded healthcare. Do you vote Republican?

What if that issue was legalization of marijuana?

What if that issue was abortion?

What if that issue was reducing the size and scope of the military?

It is difficult for us to see the appeal in modern liberalism. The issues do not speak to most of us here at INGO. Couple with this the fact that we like to argue against straw men, where all Democrats are gun-grabbing socialists, not fellow Americans that think the government can be used for benevolent purposes, and it is easy to get lost in misunderstanding.
