I lived in Minnesota for 8 years and was there when they built their first actual retail store in Owatonna. 15 minutes away and I got a part-time job there with good discounts. They are high priced, especially when it has the Cabela's label on it. The one in Greenwood was less than a mile away from I live now.

Gander Mountain vs. Cabela's is no match, Cabela's has a much wider selection. Gander Mountain has backed off on a lot of their outdoorsy type stuff.

When Cabela's said they weren't going to build, Greenwood contacted Bass Pro Shop but they wouldn't bite.

Was a sad day when Cabela's said they weren't coming. There was supposed to a major hotel/water park too. Kinda thinkin' it would have been a Wolf Lodge Resort.

I still prefer to shop smaller stores for things they have available rather than giving my money to chain stores or buying on the internet.
