You didn't show these grips, but if I could find them somewhere, I would pick up a set in a second.

I like #1 and for something unique #4 not that several of the others don't look good also. It would be a tough choice for me, but I love beautiful wood grain grips. Good luck!

For a practical carry/fighting gun, go with the Crimson Trace grips. They will help in low light and night situations better than anything else. On the other hand if the gun is a daytime carry gun, rarely seeing night service, then go with something fancy.

I have some custom micarta grips, they are OK, not terrific looking but good to hang onto. I prefer half carved fancy wood grips. I like half carved because if you shoot a lot then fully carved or fully checkered grips can take a heavy toll on your hands under the recoil of a 45acp.

Smooth grips are great, as long as you can hang onto them. But they can be slippery so I don't recommend them for a primary weapon. Great on a show gun or an occasional carry gun.

Pachs will put stress on the ambi safety joint if you ride the safety on the right side. They are too soft.

My vote for the all time great grips would be Radical Concepts. Harder than Pachs, better grip, and available from a guy on Gunbroker for $10.

Epsylum always liked slimline Aluma-grips for carry. I agree. They are not fancy but you can really get a good grip, wet or dry. Unless you have a really big hand, the slim line style works better for most in self defense situations. I like the original checkered styles for target but not on a carry gun. Color is a personal thing, do what you like best.
