I worked out hard, very hard.

I dry fired, AK, AR, G19, J frame, several sessions.

I went to the range and ran small team drills with the crew.

I went to the woods and practiced man tracking and bush craft.

I put up more firewood, sharpened my axes, chainsaw and hatchets.

    Ran the gennys.

Bought a bunch of canned veggies.

One week in the history books. Next?

Let's see. In the last week I canned:
    30 pints of ground beef
    30 pints of chicken breast
    7 quarts of chili
And 20 quarts of apple pie filling

Now to see what else we can get ou of the freezer and into jars this week....
(I think I'm gonna need more jars. Time to hit the garage sales and such....)

I was let go from my job Tuesday. They called it restructuring to reduce cost. So now I have my own personal SHTF. Still trying to deal with the shock of being unemployed and facing possible bankruptcy if I don't find another job soon.

That sucks. I'll pray for you and your family. Hopefully you'll find something even better.

Sorry to hear. When one door closes, another opens! Keep your chin up and go get em. You next job may be a great deal better than your last!

Turned more useless items in cash which I am turning into more useful preps supplies, also had hand water pump installed, windmill to be erected shortly....

If anyone needs info on pumps etc, I have a good resonably priced source.

Thanks! I appreciate your thoughts and prayers. I'm sure it will all work out.

I have had more jobs in the last 4 years than the 10 before that. Times are tough but keep a good attitude and get out there. Something will come your way.

In our thoughts and prayers for you and family.

    Stay strong,

    Tim...aka...churchmouse

What kind and where do you get your antibiotics if I may ask?

You can buy a variety of fish antibiotics online. Aren't sold for human consumption, but they are the same antibiotics and dosages... Thomas Labs is one manufacturer.

I am interested if anyone has any other suggestions.

Finished putting pouches and knife on my plate carrier, pulled out the BOB and upgraded some items in it. Bought plastic hard cases for the rechargeable batteries, tested the charge on all batteries. Added some more Enloop aa and aaa's. Restocked all the food items in it from my last trip. Rotated battery stock in GHB and BOB. Tested the fire starters that the boys and I made. Sharpened all blades in the kits as well as taught the boys how to do so. Rotated magazines in weapons cases and bags. Tested NVG's and found a broken strap on the headgear. Swapped out summer gear for winter gear in the BOB. Reloaded the BOB and weighed it- still under 50#.

Signed up as a den leader and Merit Badge counselor for the cub/boy scouts. This should get me out and using the needed skills more often. Teaching kids how to be self reliant is a great honor as well. These kids are the future of our nation, investing in them is the best prep I can think of.
