    Rachel,

My very first purchase was a Smith & Wesson V40 model. I didn't know anything about guns and was disappointed after getting it out and shooting it. Plus, the ammo is quite expensive. I then traded it in for a Glock 26 which I absolutely love except that it doesn't fit my hand well. I have a small hand and need a smaller grip. The 26 uses .9mm so it's cheaper than .40 but I have had absolutely very few problems with the glock. I don't have much experience with other guns except a kel-tec PF9 and I did NOT like that gun. The trigger on my glock is so nice and smooth. It's just fabulous. Scutter (my husband) has an XD9 and I have shot that and it also shoots very nicely. It also doesn't fit my hand well either though. But don't just buy a firearm because it's cheap. Cheap is not necessarily bad but it's not usually good..
