It's a fun rumor that my dad said he first heard when he was an undergrad in the early 1970s. Unfortunately, it's nonsense. They had to remove solid rock when they built the thing. And if it had actually sunk an inch every year since 1970, the front doors would now be 4.5 feet below the grand front steps.The book of useless information.
