My CZ is DA/SA, my sig is striker. I like both, so no preference there. This will be primarily a range gun. I will only occasionally carry it.

If it's mainly a range gun, GET A 1911!!!! You won't be sorry. They shoot so sweet and once you get some trigger work............

    Yeah. 1911 for the win.

I agree. I would go with the 1911.

I carried a Sig 220 for duty many years. It shot great, durable but capacity is like a 1911. 8 rds or 10 rds in the extended mag.
I grew up shooting 1911's as we are a military based family. My first time was when I was 10. Dude, that was like 46 years ago. I went thru APG's small arms repairman course and got a shoot a full auto 1911 in the practice range. That was fun!
Anyhoo, both platforms have been around awhile. The Sig was first imported as the Browning BDA 45 and the 1911 needs no intro.

It wasn't one of your choices listed above, but here's another vote for the Springfield XDm 45. A real sweet shooter.
Never shot the 45 version, but I owned a XDM in .40 and loved it. Very accurate, smooth shooting gun. I’d imagine the 45 would be even smoother than the snappier .40

But, if money isn’t an option, I’d have to vote for a 1911. Historically awesome piece of American past times, beautiful guns that always seem to draw the attention of everyone at the range every time someone pulls one out. I don’t own one because I’m a cheapskate, more of a dream wishlist piece, but if I had the extra cash to spend on a prize piece for the range that would definitely be the top of the list.

I recently met a fellow at the range that had a 2011. Since it is a double stack and it was 10 mm I thought it would be way to big for my hand, and was pleasantly surprised that it was not much bigger than my 1911.

The Glock 21 has more girth than I feel comfortable with.

    I am a die hard 1911A1 guy.

I have a G20 SF and it feels like a 2x2 in my hand. Glock doesn't know what ergonomics is. It took me hundreds of rds to figure it out. It doesn't point like any other handgun I've ever shot. Once you learn that it doesn't point right and you get a feel for the 2x2 grip it isn't as bad.
