The Northwest Indiana Patriots are hosting a conservative rally!!

Even if you can't make it, please do us a small favor, if you support the cause. Forward the information to friends, coworkers, family, etc. Anyone who is conservative and is dissatisfied with the course our country is headed on. Invite your Facebook friends. It is really appreciated.

This is the "Aftermath" to the 912 March On DC that just took place. We are bringing that momentum back home. Quite a few of our members made the trip from Northwest Indiana and participated in the Washington DC rally. Some of them will be speaking about the event this Sunday.

Also, three weeks ago we had a very successful rally in Valparaiso and people have expressed a very strong interest in doing another local event, so here we go. I've met several INGO members through these events and look forward to seeing more of you get out there and help support the cause that so many of you talk about. 400 people showed up in Valpo for the last one, and we expect our numbers to continue to grow!!

Will try to make it to this one. Last one I had class. Only reason why I couldnt make it to this is if I have some huge amount of work to be done. Ehh, I will need to take a break sooner or later.

If you guys show up, there may be a chance to directly ask him his stance on the 2nd Amendment and related issues. A rare chance to talk to a future leader. He's a down to earth guy and will gladly answer questions.

I did end up making it here and I was surprised at what I seen. Many of these people, although most much older, were just like me. All of them wanted pretty much the same thing, and that was to get government out of our lives. I was surprised at the civility and calmness that the protesters exhibited when there would be someone who would instigate. I was very pleased with the speakers, especially Richard Behney. He wasn't standing up in front of everyone elevated, but he was down with the normal people. He doesn't want to be better than anyone else, he just wanted to change America for the better. I encourage you all to check his website out, Richard Behney for U.S. Senate , and see what you think of him. Matt can tell you more about him, and his stances on the second amendment. Overall I was very impressed with the protest, and hope to attend more, and maybe meet with some more INGO members.

It went well. Roughly 150-200 people came to the rally.

Our first speaker, Thomas Tabback, gave a well-spoken and moving speech, that lasted about an hour (a little long). His main point was that we are being pushed by our leaders back to the "age of kings." The point is that aspiring monarchs used to promise to their subjects that their needs would be taken care of if they would hand over their wealth and property. The people became essentially slaves of their king. Security at the cost of liberty. He was selling his books at a table set up off to the side.

We then took a symbolic walk around the courthouse. I encountered a socialist dressed up as "The Flash." He carried a pro-Obama signed and demanded that we pay his medical bills. I told him he looked good in Soviet Red. He was proud to be a socialist.

We then regrouped and turned over the microphone to Richard Behney, candidate for US Senate. He's a small business owner who started the Tea Party movement in Indianapolis. He's never been a politician. He told us he believes in a strict following of the constitution, limited federal government, fiscal responsibility, and strong national defense. Behney is just a regular guy, down-to-earth and approachable. He walked amongst the crowd instead of standing on the speaking platform.

I walked up to him and shook his hand after the speech. We talked for a few minutes. I asked him what he would do to support the 2nd amendment. He said he owns guns, did not want any other infringements on the RKBA, and acknowledged that the purpose of the amendment had nothing to do with hunting and everything to do with protecting the people from its government. I promptly gave him a donation and told him he had my vote. Behney would do us proud in Washington. Please donate to his campaign and help him get elected. Check out his site for more details.

Thanks to those who support the Northwest Indiana Patriots!! Please join and check us out next time! We are getting recognition from some pretty big names!

    Post Tribune's Article

Health care focus of Porter County rally :: Porter County :: Post-Tribune
    September 21, 2009

By Charles M. Bartholomew, Post-Tribune correspondent

VALPARAISO — More than 130 people braved the threat of rain to rally on the Porter County Courthouse north lawn for a Patriots Party followup to last week’s mass demonstration in Washington, D.C.

Rising from the crowd were a dozen American flags, the Stars and Stripes and pre-Revolutionary “Don’t Tread on Me” banners in equal numbers, some of which had been carried at the event in the nation’s capital.

First at the microphone was Northwest Indiana Patriots Party co-founder Faith Jones of Valparaiso, who proclaimed love as the theme of the afternoon.

“It’s all about love, love of country,” she said.

    No counter-protesters showed up.

Health care reform was again the focus of remarks by a number of speakers.

Among those who brought lawn chairs, Patriots Party members Jim and Debbie Johnson of Highland sat holding signs that read “Stop shredding the Constitution” and “Say No to Socialism.”

A dozen others at the curb waved signs at passing traffic on Lincolnway, drawing scattered honks throughout the rally.

“I have a message for President Obama: ‘You lie!’ ” said Jones, leading the throng in the repeated chant.

“I came with my sister to hear the speaker,” said Kathy Jefferson, a store clerk from Calumet City, Ill., who had attended rallies in Wicker Park and at U.S. Rep. Pete Visclosky’s recent forum in Chesterton.

Keynote speaker Richard Tabback, author of “Joe the Plumber” and “Things Forgotten,” exhorted the crowd to “take back America” and oppose government health care reforms as a socialist threat that would make them “slaves” to the powers in Washington.

" 'Things Forgotten' is a novel of the Israelite conquest of Canaan. As I researched it, I realized how closely it parallels the history of this country,” Tabback said. “We are in the Age of Kings. They all lie. When you hand over your future to them, you set into motion your own undoing.”

He and Jones urged everyone to vote Nov. 3 as a first step in regaining control.

“Voting is the answer. We don’t have a party. We’ll be back here after election day, asking these people, where are your ‘I Voted’ buttons?” she said.

Jones’ group also handed out information sheets urging the defeat of the proposed Regional Transportation Authority, which they oppose because it would increase taxes.
    No mention of Richard Behney...
