    russia has done this in the past, nukeing a leak. im not sure of any problems with the radiation or anything since. also, bombs have been used to stop leaks on land, and im sure it could do the same in water.......what are these idiots doing? if it was up to the public, this leak would have been fixed 2 days after it happened.

    I agree that an explosion would have probably nipped this in the bud long ago. I dunno if it has to be nuclear or not.

    Thing is, doing it that way, the well cant be saved. BP doesnt want to lose the investment that they already have in the digging of this well. Every method they have tried so far is being done with the anticipation of going back into the well after the debacle of the spill is dealt with.

    I doubt any on govt. has the cajones to make the decision to close this leak down for good. If this thing keeps polluting the ocean past the August date, perhaps public outcry will get to the point where they do pull the trigger.
