I'm still trying to figure out why they are called assault weapons when in possession by a citizen but are patrol rifles when in possession by LE. Heck after all these years I can't even interpret what an assault weapon really is.

Because the wet dream of this progressive scum is a society in which only state (leo and military) has arms and citizen is left defenseless.

Citizen presents much less a threat and is easier to control when disarmed.
