Holy cow. That's a lot of holsters. I only have three or four old ones I don't use, but that's only because we switched from the Glock 17 to the 45 at work and I still have some holsters for the 17. Our simunition guns are 17s still, so they'll still get a little use.

Couple of years ago I took extra holsters to a buddy of mine along with his extra holsters it fills two of those large totes that people use to store Christmas decorations. We have probably every type of holster that a person can imagine. We call it our Holsters of Shame. Stuff that works, stuff that doesn‘t. We consider it paying tuition.

This doesn’t count the holsters I still have. Holsters in my top drawer, holsters on the gun safe, my son‘s holsters, my wife’s holsters, holsters in yet another tote in the garage. I really wish there was the perfect holster for every situation but truth is it really depends on the individual and their needs. At the very least most people will probably want an OWB and an IWB option.

Funny thing is I caught myself shopping for a new holster today.

I see people all the time at work who go for the cheap holster..I try to tell them, that i'm not up selling them, but spend a few bucks more for a good holster, rather that find out the cheapo one doesn't work..

To be fair even the expensive ones sometimes don’t work. Everybody is a little bit different in their tastes and body size. Personally my butt looks great in tight stretchy bell bottoms but I am pretty sure not everyone in this thread can pull that off.

Keep in mind expensive is different for everyone.

You will be unhappy trying to force yourself to wear a holster that doesn’t fit you correctly just because you paid good money for it. Or similarly people keep buying the same thing because “it works” and they are afraid to buy other things to try.

Finding the right holster that ticks all the boxes is a great feeling, but I, as well, have a box of holsters that don't work well enough or have just reproduced cuz I left them alone in the dark too long!

Holsters. The one thing I gave almost no thought to when I was shopping for my first gun. It's amazing how much a good holster can make or break the experience of EDC. Since I had zero experience carrying a gun everyday, I didn't even know what to look for in my first holsters.

I try to get period holsters for the guns if I can. Collect Heiser, Brauer Bros. and especially EE Clark.
