    You young whipper-snapper! My first 2 Chevys had keys made by Briggs and Stratton! And the "climate control system" was the inspiration for the Transporter controls on Star Trek.

    I think my Dad's first car didn't even have keys, if you were worried about it getting stolen you just took the crank with you...

    I've read that less energy (money) is used in getting the temperature back where you want it by turning A/C up several degrees
    rather than completely shutting it off. The A/C runs for ever if the house gets too hot.

    If I had central air that would probably be true, but I just have a couple window units cooling single rooms. Going from full off and cook an egg on the nightstand hot to comfortable is about a 5 minute process. Less when I'm not standing in front of the AC...
