Later in life she was always hot, went to her place one February and the temp was unseasonably warm, around 50 for a few days. House with furnace turned off was still in the 70s though.
My mom was just the opposite late in life. When we'd go visit her, it was just stifling hot, but she'd still be chilly.

Like people that turn on the heat in the car as soon as they get in, and put it on full fan.

    Just blowing cold air.
I do that with my A/C though. Clears the hot air out of the system quickly until the conditioned air starts coming through. Don't have to wait for the engine to get warm like you do with the heat.

    Further thread diversion:

A few years ago my wife and I visited the Pennsylvania in late December to have Christmas in Bethlehem (!). While we in the area we visited Gettysburg battlefield and Vally Forge National Park.

We had reserved a car, and when we arrived at the airport the rental car people offered us a deal: if we would take a Ford Mustang convertible, we would get a heck of a deal on the price. Remember, this is late December in Pennsylvania, it's raining and spitting snow. But we thought what to heck, can't see well in any direction but straight ahead when top is up, but Mustangs are fun, why not and save some bucks. So we crammed our 50+ year old selves into it and off we went.

Turned out to be perfect for touristing. Valley Forge National Park is a big park, lots of road, and speed limit is 25mph. Mustang had all the bells and whistles including heated seats. So we fired up the seats and put the normal dash heater on high, dropped the top, and drove around the park snug and warm in 25 degree weather (stopped snowing/and raining luckily). Could see in every direction! Genius! Same at Gettysburg. Best touring car I ever rented.

Now you may return to your regularly scheduled cartoons. 11C9500C-F2F8-43C0-B8D1-FB8B2D5390D8.jpeg

Makes me think of those morons who drive near dusk or dawn without lights on, assuming they are being smart and saving gasoline.

Your crappy little silver car is the same color as the street! NO one can see you, Idiot!
    :ugh:
Silver cars don’t need their lights on when its foggy either.

Myself, I will run whatever I feel comfortable with while at home, but shut it down when leaving. I may work in hell, but getting paid in Biden Bucks means ya save whenever ya can. I always say I will consider myself "well off" when I can leave the house and not worry I left the lights or AC on.
I've read that less energy (money) is used in getting the temperature back where you want it by turning A/C up several degrees
rather than completely shutting it off. The A/C runs for ever if the house gets too hot.
