DIY? Which one do you use and how easy and durable?Gonna try and get my ceramic coating on the new Subaru today
You should be very happy with Strikefire 2 for this class. Especially if you shoot with both eyes open. The only trouble I ever had with mine is keeping the flip up caps on when in the up position. Simple solution, when I was using the red dot, the caps would be in my pocket.I picked up a used vortex strikefire 2 for a low price here and have that mounted on my AR for now. Am taking the revere riders 223 class in June and after may decide to just keep it. At the SGE I was consitently ringing the 300 yrd 10” plate from a bench with it.
Nah. You'd have just done another dozen installs and paid cash. Still good times living vicariously among friends. . . . .and it's lots less work.In some sick off beat way I am safe from needing a second mortgage to keep up as I am sure I would.
But alas I just follow along and smile at what could have been.
Fat momma squirrel.Did someone say squirrel ???
(tonight, I spent 90 minutes in the backyard looking to photograph birds, and this is all that showed-up)
This will get you hunters drooling for squirrel season !

Was curious what your experience was.Yipp - DIY
Hafta clay bar...then de-wax with alcohol...then apply in small amounts and small areas.
I have already purchased the clay bars/micro fiber applicators/yadayadayada
Ceramic of choice is C-Quartz Lite. I researched for hours which one to get.
Also, gonna do the underbody with Blaster Surface Shield -- again, loads of research.
Questions?? PM's answered
I haven't tried ceramic yet but my go to has been Griots and Zaino for years and years. Was curious what your experience was.
I used carpro cquartz uk on my SUV 2 years ago. As the vehicle was purchased used (and is black) I did the full treatment: wash with dawn, clay bar, wash again, ultra fine polish with a DA polisher, wash again, used Mothers ceramic prep then treatment. Waited 2 weeks for it to cure per i tructions, washed and clay barred and washed again and repeated the treatment. I do their “booster” every six months. Seems to be holding up pretty well and I do run through an automatic wash on occasion. Not sure it wouldn't be easier to just wash, clay bar and wax 3-4 times a year.
Uses Mothers on my convertible which only sees 3-4000 miles a year and that seems to be holding up well but I only hand wash it.
I used zaino for many years but cost and the emergence of better poducts that are easier to use made me switch. Still have a big jug of Griots car wash soap which I use and a few of their interior products.I haven't tried ceramic yet but my go to has been Griots and Zaino for years and years.

They recommend multiple coats for the “best, show car finish”. I think I put 12 coats on my 2000 Corvette one spring to ready it for a few shows. And even though you need very little product to cover a car it goes bad if stored too long. Of course, I went down the full Zaino rabbit hole!:Not the first rut I've been stuck in (shut up Travis)....
What's easier than Zaino? Put it on - wait a few minutes or days - buff it off.
One of my kids has gotten hooked on Chemical Guys product and thinks it better than Zaino.
