Hamburgers and mashed potatoes consumed, the potatoes being our first run growing them here. Finished off with some home made wine from grapes grown here. We are at least somewhat self sufficient.

It's for me! I've been wanting a bolt gun with irons since the rimfire gathering. Light and inexpensive. Something fun to shoot steel with from a standing position.

When I was younger, and long before typing took over my form of communication, I loved practicing Calligraphy. I had a set of nice pens and found great joy in the process. Fast forward to present and I can barely keep a straight line or keep sizing and spacing correct. My keyboarding skills have improved though.

That's a great skill, at my old job there was a lady who could write like that and I had her make labels for a lot of the chemicals in an old English script.

My penmanship has always been pretty good. In high school, I had a couple of years of drafting and design classes and the penmanship has mostly stuck with me. When I get lazy, it goes to he'll though.

Old English was a personal favorite. I haven't practiced in a very long time. Would be neat to see daughter take an interest in it. She does enjoy doodling and Art like I did when I was a youngster.

Other than stocking up on supplies, I haven't done much with reloading lately.

You get your best accuracy out of a lever gun with cast if the cartridge length is such that you get just a little resistance when it closes all the way. Sometimes it's hard to find that length that works for everything you have in that caliber.

I get a similar issue with 44-40 in revolvers, only the bullet diameter is the problem there.

I wonder if that is why SK rifle match is more acurate than Lapua Center-X in my 457. There is more resistance closing the bolt on Center-X and visible deformities on the bullet when compared with the SK. SK has a little resistance and marks the bullets but not near as much as the Lapua does. The SK also feeds smoother from the magazine and I had the best groups with the Lapua with single shot feeding

I think you're describing the opposite phenomenon? Maybe excessive damage to the lead using the Lapua?

Looks like a great day!

I mostly chatted with my wife after an inter-continental movie date this morning. Looking forward to taking her for the fireworks once she comes to the US (process is pending).

I think you're describing the opposite phenomenon? Maybe excessive damage to the lead using the Lapua?

Maybe, I have read that the match chamber on my rifle is made to minimum SAMI specs for 22 LR and to expect lead 22 bullets to fit tight. Also read not to use high velocity rounds as the case is very slightly longer and can be deformed by the chamber.

All I really know is it likes SK Rifle Match best
