You guys might kill me, but I use Ranch Dressing to dip my steak in, properly cooked, and prepared from fresh green fed freezer beef too.

I don't buy steak at a restaurant, it's never near as good as what I can make at home. Sea salt, pepper, coriander, and medium rare cooked over mesquite please.

Steak sauce is forbidden. Last person that asked me for steak sauce got hot dogs.

I use a sauce called Pickapeppa, it's a kind of spicy A1 from Jamaica.

Nope, no reason for it just as others have mentioned. I take personal offense if someone puts steak sauce on one that I've cooked. My wife say's I've ruined her on eating steaks anywhere but home. I created my own rub a few years back, and since then....

Nope. If it needs sauces then you prolly won't enjoy it. My dad always replies to the waitress when they ask if he needs steak sauce and I quote,"I don't know. Does it need it??" I never use steak sauce. If it needs it. It gets ketchup. Just to show them how great their steak was.

No steak sauce here, as I don't eat steak. Medical people advised me to not eat red meat after three heart attacks. No biggie. I can do wonderful things with chicken and turkey.

I hear a lot "not a good steak, but on a cheap steak from Kroger..."

If a steak is not top quality, then you make a sauce. Might a recommend a green peppercorn sauce? A little brandy, a little cream...

I put A1 on all of it good steak, bad steak or road kill.

I would even ask for it at the best of resturants.

SO, don't take this the wrong way, but... why bother ordering a GOOD steak, if you are just going to smother it in A1?

Do you order your steaks well done too? :dunno:

Read the label. A1 was formulated in the 19th century, long before refrigeration was common. Its purpose was to attempt to cover the smell/taste of rotting meat. Good meat don't need it.

Dammit, I'm sitting here drooling like one of Pavlov's dogs. A1 on a buger or in the gravy for pot roast, but never on a steak. Worcestershire on steak, sometimes, depending on how it was seasoned.
