To meld a couple threads together, are you aware that Iranian troops are flying into Venezuela, then traveling north into Mexico? Three guesses where they're going. Also, muslims from the Mideast have been entering Mexico via family ties, and also entering the US, masquerading as Mexicans and Central Americans.

The Russians ran all kinds of intelligence operations out of Mexico City during the cold war. I'm sure more than a few red agents bypassed the border checkpoints heading both ways.

There's no way of knowing what all weapons or persons have come in that way and there's no reason to think its any different today than it was then.

And the Germans landed sabotage teams on the eastern sea coast too during the height of WWII. IIRC they were trying to take out power plants to shut down war time production capability.

You have to wonder how many places that are considered "centers" for some groups are really re-education and brain washing places for misguided youth.
