I think a lot of restaurants will not survive this. Especially those with the high costs involved with operation in high population areas.

I have to run some errands in the next few days. I wonder if places like TSC, Menards and green houses are open as normal?

I ate lunch yesterday a local restaurant just as they got the announcement that they were to close later. I was the only person there. The manager thanked me for coming in. She was almost in tears because between the 4 restaurants in town, they have 300 employees, many who will not be earning a paycheck now.

She also said that it's a really big deal that people buy gift cards or utilize the carry out. She said a lot of businesses' look good and secure financially from the outside, but a couple weeks of lost revenue will hurt even the strong ones. Weak ones may not survive.

My in-laws are in town. I'm going to pick up dinner at a local restaurant tonight and bring it home for us.

Our over all economic structure is about to get kicked right in the balls.

I'm in rural Rush county. The situation out here is pretty good: squirrels are still as active as normal in the big oak tree behind the house.

So long as I stay out of public (as all of us should be doing as much as possible), I expect the situation here to be pretty stable. I'm supposed to see a medical specialist in Indy on Thursday; I'm not sure that is going to happen.

IU is no longer seeing patients in person in family practice and all non emergency surgery and the like is being cancelled. You may have a face-time type appointment...

If I can't go out for a beer, then I'll bring the tap to me.

Time to get my kegerator running and call some local nano/micro breweries in town.

Plus for me is I no longer drink.

Downside -1 for me is I no longer drink...….:):

You take the good, you take the bad...

I went the grocery - I needed broccoli for dinner (thai peanut chicken :D), and eggs - I used the last one making a hollandaise sauce that broke. :(

I found neither. There was also no meat, no milk, no bananas, no... I left with yogurt, some overpriced organic baby broccoli, and a lot of booze to restock the bar.

People needing their 1040s had to drop of their paperwork. I took it into the back, completed it, then called (on the phone) the taxpayer to comeback into the building and sign it.

The roadways into Lafayette seemed oddly clear today. Not much traffic at all. I have been going to work then straight home so not sure what the situation is around Lafayette really. Lebanon Wal-Mart shelves had been picked over pretty good but they still had quite a lot of canned food remaining. They had no milk, wife found milk today at the local IGA but said most things had been picked over there.

Things are here about like everywhere else - good luck finding toilet paper or meat at the store. Gloves, some medical supplies are also impossible to find. Have had some luck being there when stocking to get some things we need.

Stopped in at Fort Liberty on my way home.

Zero balance on 9mm of any kind. No .40 S&W, a little .45 range ammo (no HP.) If you want .38 Special, .357 Mag, or .380 you're in luck. Only 12 gauge was 3" , 5 in a box (couldn't see it real clear.)

    No 5.56.

.22: Getting thin on LR. I picked up 100 rounds of CCI .22 L (just because, it was cheaper than short.)

Handguns: a lot fewer in the case than usual. I don't think I saw a double-stack 9mm Glock.

Long-guns: about a third of the spaces were empty.

Still seeing primers on the shelves? I have to visit the dentist and figured on picking some up at Bobcat.

I drove south and got 2 pounds of hamburger today. They had more but I didn't want to be that guy.

I haven't been to the store lately so can't report on that, but I have been closely following the markets. After noticing the silver price fall to a long time low, I was hoping to buy some. I've always used silvertowne online but they are out of melt bucket, 90% us coins, 1 oz bars and hell maybe everything (quit looking after a while) it seems. They are also saying 12-14 week shipping delays! Seemed strange to me.

I bought some silver from JM on Sunday, before prices dropped $2 + per oz.

I checked their site earlier today, and the cost for the same product was about 8% more even though spot was about 12.5% lower.

    Interesting times.
