This is what is wrong with Washington.
So our representative voted for a bill being written by democrats
that is not even finished being written. How is this legal?

Young needs to be held accountable!
I will definitely be contacting him!

I hope everyone does the same.

The vote was to end the filibuster of the bill. Now they can finalize it and vote on it.

Did anyone notice if any of the republicans who voted for for this were wiping the grease from their hands with a shop towel?

Young is like Buttijuice. He did a tour in the Marines (Intel) to give him some cred then became a career politician; the only difference is he ran as a republican instead of a gay commie...but really no difference.

    Partisan = patriot
    Bi-partisan = traitor
That is a bit simplistic. There are a lot of areas where bi-partisanship is good. An infrastructure bill would actually normally be one.

Took a little time before starting work this morning to write to both senator Young and the national Republican Party.

My rant to the national Republican Party went something like this.

    "Greetings,
I am I believe a member of the demographic that the Republican Party has traditionally relied upon to be a force in American politics. I am relatively conservative, a constitutionalist, a strong believer that the United States of America must always and first be a form of limited government and a Republic of republics.
If The Republican Party desires to retain me and those like me as likely voters for candidates associated with your platform then action needs to be taken.
Being a member or supporter of a political party is a two-way street. The organization develops a platform and those who can agree with it enough support it. In the context of a political party, the party must decide at what point a members actions so deviate from the organizations positions that they can no longer be associated with the organization.
It is my position that representatives Kinzinger and Cheney, have crossed the line and no longer can be considered supporters of the Republican Party platform. They have become co-conspirators with the Communists (AKA Democrats) currently working to subvert the Constitution.
I call upon the Republican national Party and through its state affiliates, to immediately evict these representatives from the party. Further I call upon the Republican national committee to warn, and possibly evict, the dozen senators who have voted to end the filibuster on the communists supposed bipartisan infrastructure bill.
This nation is at a crossroads. If the Republican party desires to stand with those who will fight for a government based upon the actual principles and documents this nation was founded upon then it needs to take action. If the Republican party is unwilling to take action I have little doubt over the next 48 months that another organization will step up to the plate and garner the support and loyalty of those who once voted for Republican party aligned candidates.
Make wise and bold choices! Fight for this nation's most core principles! If you do not The Republican Party will reap the rewards of the seeds it sows now in the next two to three election cycles.
No more Republicans in name only! No more chamber of commerce Republicans! The Republican party's sole focus must be upon presenting candidates who are absolute constitutionalists!"
The usual disclaimers apply. I'm not delusional enough to believe that anybody's going to read what I wrote and care or that it's going to change anything. However if enough citizens write enough correspondence with similar statements it may move those who desire to retain that segment of the population as constituents and voters.

The above was followed by a brief entry to senator Young's web page stating I needed an explanation of his vote. And that in the absence of a suitable explanation he simply could no longer receive my support.

We really need better options! Braun on a voting basis is turning out better than I ever expected. Young is turning out to be far worse. I really want young primaried at the first opportunity. Surely the state can come up with a better candidate than he.

88% of bridges/overpasses in Indiana rated as 'Structurally Deficient' with over 50% rated as 'Imminent Failure', I'd say some infrastructure work *might* be needed, if you don't want to die trying to get anywhere...

I'm on good, clean limestone filtered well water, so I don't watch the water quality reports much, but last time it made the news around 60% of water utilities were well below clean water standards...

You either have a water filter, OR, you ARE the water filter...

I forgot, the highway system, sewage systems, water systems, power grid are all COMMUNISM to a bunch of far right wingers...
Basically since they don't/won't acknowledge societies MUST have social contracts (socialism) to survive.

The lack of education is astounding in a country where you have the opportunity for 13 years of education.

    No apologies necessary...

I saw this coming back in the 80's, in the mid 90's I saw it fully implemented, and started building.

My own water (deep limestone wells),
I built my own micro power grid (no more outages),
My own sewage treatment (very large septic that can be cleaned/serviced from all directions),
And I grow most of my own food, with acreage for livestock & row crops.

When the house was built, it was built as energy efficient as I could financially afford, passive solar & passive thermal.

Can't say what the rest of the population has done or will do, just knew I didn't want to be in the dark, hungry & homeless 30 years from then when I COULDN'T work hard to get what I'd need...

When tax dollars went to religion (faith based groups) I knew we as a nation were cooked.
Now we have a lot of big, new churches...
No new water, sewage treatment, electric grid, etc.

Now that you bought into the 'Right Wing, Left Wing' crap, ignoring that both 'Wings' are connected to the same vulture picking you eyeballs,
And DIDN'T watch where things were going while you all were raging against each other...
    (A house divided)
The economic middle class got systematically fleeced of 90% of assets, which went straight to the 1% at the top...

And so many of you STILL want to argue with your (poor) neighbors while you all loose assets...

When I see someone that thinks the opposite of communism is capitalism,
Still thinks big business won't poison you out of house & home, kill your children,
Still thinks some big business political agenda is more important than clean water, clean food,

I know for a fact the US is headed to be a 3rd world country.
With 16 years in the US Marines, and sent to every crap hole in the world over those 16 years, the pattern becomes VERY clear...
You are either part of the solution, or you are part of the problem!

    I don't have a 'Side'...

    I'm a Constitutionalist.

I don't much care what people do to each other in the name of big business and their bought & paid for politicians.
Anyone that participates in that crap are expendable, or the politically correct term, peasants, as in "Dead Peasants", now a legal term.
    (Look it up)

*IF* "We The People" ever take advantage of education and get together, the corruption and games big business/congress plays will end.
That's why they keep us fighting among ourselves...
But then again, most of you know that and keep the fights going intentionally, arguing against common sense, science, clean air & water, etc.

If you want to be a 'Conservative' then give up firearms, land, personal wealth/property and pledge allegiance to a king/god and get it over with already...
There weren't any 'Conservatives' signing the Declaration Of Independence, there aren't any 'Conservatives' on Mt. Rushmore, etc.

Because they intend to try to pass as much of their wish list as possible via reconciliation (which is simple majority) they need to define it all as infrastructure and cram it into a spending bill

Make no mistake, Manchin will vote for most everything brought up that way while being allowed to maintain his 'heroic' stance on keeping the filibuster

I imagine about now most Democrats are looking toward '22 and developing a newfound respect for minority party rights and privileges

Like common sense gun control lol, and who argues against clean air and water? As a constitutionalist you're pretty much in the same camp as those evil far right Republicans you're making fun of.

“Once upon a time our traditional goal in war and can anyone doubt that we are at war? - was victory. Once upon a time we were proud of our strength, our military power. Now we seem ashamed of it. Once upon a time the rest of the world looked to us for leadership. Now they look to us for a quick handout and a fence-straddling international posture.”
    -- Barry Goldwater

“None of us here in Washington knows all or even half of the answers ... If you love your country, don't depend on handouts from Washington for your information. If you cherish your freedom, don't leave it all up to big government.”
    -- Barry Goldwater

“‎"I feel certain that Conservatism is through unless Conservatives can demonstrate and communicate the difference between being concerned with [the unemployed, the sick without medical care, human welfare, etc.] and believing that the federal government is the proper agent for their solution.”

It's almost like they got away with using "Covid" funds for whatever they want. Now they want to use our failing infrastructure which they've created by mismanagement and mishandling of funds to ride the train as far as they can.

Absolutely ridiculous, bloated bills and mishandling of funds needs to stop ASAP if we have any hope for our children to succeed.
