He was chairman or ranking member of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee for 12 years. That would have given him very high clearance, as would being Vice President. A number of us here have had access to classified information in order to perform our military or civilian jobs.More importantly, why did SENATOR biden have them? Reports are some of them are from his days in the senate, where he probably didnt have clearance in the first place to even have them.
I guess most of us here, have gotten our answer.I thought it odd and a little disturbing that a sitting US senator should be afraid of bureaucrats, made me wonder if representative government really existed anymore, of if it had now devolved into an illusion.
My post stands. He did it when he was President. Are you implying Trump took the docs in question after he was out of office? Reread the constitution and tell us just what entities have the constitutional power to tell the President to do ANYTHING?Sorry he wasn't the sitting president...that simple...surprised ot wouldn't let you type sitting though...maybe you mistyped something.
Here is the real outcome the uniparty wants.
“Yet, the term of imprisonment isn’t the issue here. The trial and the legal pressure the Biden Department of Justice is forcing Trump to shoulder.“
“As Katie wrote on Friday, they want him to quit. Trump being a billionaire is the only reason he can soak up these legal actions. The costs will be astronomical; most families would have been bankrupt by now. The Justice Department’s witch hunts have bankrupted many former Trump aides. Trump now faces two trials…”
Correct. It is real simple, the guy getting the arrows in the back is the real threat to the deep state…Yeah, there is no doubt that they have always wanted to try and beat down Trump to get him to capitulate and go away. He's had more resolve than they have though. I've also seen that they want to occupy the headlines with all of this so as to take the focus off of Biden's failures.
This just goes to show that Trump truly is for AF. He didn't have to subject himself to all of this. He's a billionaire and could just be out enjoying a carefree life in his later years.Correct. It is real simple, the guy getting the arrows in the back is the real threat to the deep state…
The power given to the President, whether by the Constitution or legislation, applies to the time in office. It is not lifetime. My post stands. He did it when he was President. Has even the looney left alleged he took the documents after his presidency ended? The power given to the President, whether by the Constitution or legislation, applies to the time in office. It is not lifetime.
We elect presidents, not monarchs.
A President can have agreements with congress but no President and and or congress can pass a law, regulation, or agreement that binds subsequent presidents or congress. The President is the unilateral decision maker for documents in their possession and possess the ability to keep those documents after their presidency. The balance of powers sent up in the Constitution makes it difficult to make a definitive statement. The dominance of the respective branches has varied over the years. Only Congress can pass legislation, even over a Presidential veto. Congress determines the budget and how the money is spent. Only Congress declares war. Congress can remove the Present from officer. The President has no official power over the make-up of Congress. All this is mostly indirect influence on a president.
Art ii, sec 3
". . . he shall take care that the laws be faithfully executed,. . .
How that can be enforced is another question.
He was still POTUS at the time when he had his aides load the boxes up on the way out. So that is correct in that aspect. He presidency had'nt quite ended.Has even the looney left alleged he took the documents after his presidency ended?
So he had the ultimate authority then to do as he wanted. He was still POTUS at the time when he had his aides load the boxes up on the way out. So that is correct in that aspect. He presidency had'nt quite ended.
Yep. They can even issue last minute pardons on the way out and often do up until the new POTUS is sworn in.So he had the ultimate authority then to do as he wanted.
Tis the goal.I think the bottom line here is are they going to far with all of these indictments?
First you have the SD hush money indictment and now this. Then there are two more potential indictments waiting in the wings. (J6 and Georgia.)
All this on top of the Russia collusion hoax and the two impeachments. It’s not hard to see that it’s mostly all polically motivated.
If they keep pushing it like this they run the risk of igniting a powder keg and further tearing the country apart.
iDK. Maybe that’s what they want.
