With the steady influx due to the insanity on the other sales sites the buy low flip high crowd is moving among us. Thats the real issue. If you post ammo up at a fair price it will be snatched up among a cat fight from a few known members and get listed within minutes elsewhere at current rates so they can make a buck on our backs.
I have had more cat fights over ammo than you people know. The PM sent thing and they think they have a lock.
Man oh man if you folks could sit in this chair for a week.....:):
Those people should get a bright pink username or someway for everyone to identify them, that way people can stop doing business with them and that may curb some of it.

I could even go for a banner across their avatar, some kind of warning system.

Good point. OP has no business in the classifieds at his post count yet he is. But he wont be in 5 minutes.
Does that involve a hammer or just taking the batteries out of the 'Name your own price tool' [apologies to Flo] ;)
Yup, then you get some stupid trade you did not want or a low ball offer.
Is it OK to start being mean then? Asking for a friend

Whether or not the OP belongs in the classifieds, he has a good point. I have seen some ads that were so surly that there is no way I would buy no matter how badly I wanted it. It's one thing to remind people to respond by PM; it's another thing to demand in shoutycaps that they not lowball, not bump the ad, not reply if they are not local, etc. etc. etc.
Well, we don't expect the women of INGO to know precisely what they want, no how :stickpoke:

    I'm sorry Snap, I just couldn't resist

I just completed another stellar transaction out of the classies.

SPF CZ Scorpion EVO 3 Carbine Upgraded

Seller was perfect Long conversation as usual with like minded people. Logistics worked out to both out satisfaction.
I will meet him halfway, break bread and discuss building a 10mm 1911 after I line his palm with silver and get the Scorpion for CKW. Smiles all around.

Now what to do with CKW's Ruger American themed AR pistol.....:dunno:

The people I have met through the classifieds have been A-OK. All have been very friendly except one, and they were all business and cool, which is entirely acceptable as the transaction was completely smooth.................
My experience also. Even the very rare less than stellar folks, although sometimes frustrating, have not been worthy of negative reps.

Not being sarcastic but I do not understand the purpose of responding pm sent? Was the intent to make others think the item was no longer available?

Guessing the correct thing would be to actually respond in a pm…. I have interest in you so and so can you tell me more about it etc?
The best answer i can give it because it was the way everyone else did it back when. It evolved like any other custom with most people who do it never thinking about why.

That should be “your inbox is full”, which should maybe get a pass as an infraction???
Which brings up another good point. If you're a site supporter you get more than enough space in your inbox so that it really shouldn't be filling up. If you're not a site supporter, clean out your dang inbox if you know you're going to be placing an ad that requires people to communicate with you via PM/Conversation.

A guy I work with is bad about that with his email inbox. I'll ask him about something that he claims to know nothing about, and when I ask him if he got the email that was sent out about it a week prior, he says he hadn't gotten to it and that he has 200 unread emails, etc..

Call me crazy, or anal, whatever, but I at least open emails as they come in, then decide if I need to reply, take action, delete, whatever. It would drive me bonkers to let it build up like that, especially when I've been working and not out on vacation or whatever. Heck, I even keep up with it on my days off if I'm home.

Spend 1 hour less with on line gaming/porn and read your e-mails.

:): Our work computers are locked down so tight that that's not even an option. I can't even access *gasp* INGO! But this guy is so nit-picky detail-oriented about everything else that it baffles me that he's like that with his email.

I remember some years back it happened ONCE.
I put something up for sale, had room for several more messages in my box, and in just a few hours I got a large response quicker and far beyond what I would've anticipated.
So somebody did post on the Ad thread that my box was full and they were trying to PM me.

I always thought the "PM sent" was more of a queue ... If you saw 3 "PM sent" ... you could join the line - knowing your chances were not good

I do not remember seeing any complaints where the 4th guy in line got it over the 1st guy in line - (by offering more $$$ )
