Places to shoot in Indiana

The DNR Pigeon River Range is nice they revamped in the last few years and its a great place with handgun, rifle, and skeet shooting areas.

I went there for the first time last weekend. I thought it was very nice. I had a great time...looking to go back this weekend!

Has anyone been to the DNR range in Syracuse? How does it compare to the Pigeon River range? I was curious, as the Syracuse one would be a little bit closer to me.

I shoot at Deer Creek Conservation Club, its located at Jonesboro.

I shoot at the Danville Conservation Club.
Small Range but Nice.
$60 a year

Wish it was still that cheap... was gonna go join tonight... but after shelling out 720 bucks on firearm and gear... I can't justify 150$ to join Danville (just so I can shoot purchased firearm)

Yep, nice place to shoot. Just keep in mind that Free + Nice Weather = Long Wait.

If you go on an overcast Tuesday afternoon, then it's an awesome place

I shoot there too. Good, safe place - high backstops and lots of thick trees.

There is another facility near Ft. Wayne, it is at Roanoke, IN and is owned by a gentleman named Greg Parker. Currently he has Trap and 5 Stand on Wed. 5-9 and is also a licensed hunting preserve for Pheasant. Currently under construction is a Pistol range which will go to 100 yds. and there will be a 1000yd Rifle range shortly. Direction from Roanoke going W on 24 go thru light and turn left at the Lock 4 Bar and resturant. Go to the 4way stop and turn right you can't miss it.

Greg will be happy to tell you all about the club and Rifle and Pistol range.

And you would expect anything less than from the People's Republic Of Bloomington? As a kid I went with my Dad to shoot High Power Rifle, I could have sworn the range was on the IU campus.

yeah but the only thing that bothers me about J/P is there might be alot of good people out there at the range, but i can tell you by experience there is alot of idiots that go there too, need to watch your back for accidental discharges from less experience citizens...ONE good thing is that the DNR is there all the time now to let people know what the range edicate is...
