I think the letter of the law remains: The right to bear ARMS, makes no mention of phasers, though the government will have phasers, we probably will end up with the more violent disruptors due to cost... I would think the Brady crowd would go nuts for phasers. Settings for stun and can incrementally go up to take out half a mountain side (oh, yeah. I STILL have the Next Generation's 400 page tech manual, the type 2 and phaser rifle can scud a village if needed ). Gimme your money? No we all know that. To dang many liberal progressive socialistic laws have been passed at this point the average person has lost sight of what being an American truly means! They willingly allow their rights and freedoms to be infringed or completely thrown out! Why?, pick your reason! Lazy? Stupid? gullible? blinded by the rhetoric?


It all boils down to the fact that for decades now these subversive socialist saboteurs have been working in plain sight within both major parties to strip the constitution to a empty carcass so they may assume total unregulated power!

The entire political system is corrupt and diseased, Greed is the disease, Corruption the resulting condition! Is there a better system? No. But our current distorted system is not following the original game plan! You know the one that made America great! Unlike the current farce that has turned the USA into an international joke, a national disgrace and an abomination to the men and women that have sacrificed some and given all to defend the USA and her people!

I can not understand how the average person can not see just how the liberal agenda has gotten us to this point. Simple if you reverse "engineer" from today back.

Crime and violence are the two driving forces sighted each and every time the GOV wants to infringe on law abiding citizens rights. How do you purposely increase crime?
You legislate laws that the end results are generations of disrespectful, morally bankrupt people.

But what has changed to do this you ask?
I ask you how do children learn morals and respect? By the parents disciplining them when they break the rules thats how. So when big brother made all forms of discipline but "timeout" and a "talking to" child abuse we get what we have today in society and they get just what they needed an excuse to act in the name of "safety" and "for the good of society as a whole". I grew up in the late 60's,70's and very early eighties and quite frankly miss that America!
Maybe I am wrong, maybe I am reaching.

The rate of decline in our society certainly has increased drastically since all the government intrusion into child rearing came into play.
We are dealing well educated individuals with an agenda and the willingness to go to extremes to acheive their goals. It is not beyond these types to sacrifce several generations of the population in the process.
Can anyone give a better reason for the seemingly sudden and rapid decline in society during the last two or three decades? If so I would like to hear it as well.

I believe the founders wrote the second amendment the way they did because they did envision the day when we would have weapons that they could only dream about, and some they could never dream about. The idea was that for every government person standing up against the people, there would be 100 equally armed civilians able to say "no".

"The right of the people to keep and bear arms shall not be infringes" takes into account the unknown weapon capability of the future.

As to driving tanks down the highway, the only reason it might be illegal is because some government official said so. Owning one should be your right if you have the ability to afford one.

The 2A was written to affirm the right of civilians to own the same weapons that the standing Army has access to so that when the time comes, and it will, that the citizens of this country need to throw a tyrannical government out, the playing field would be equal. The fact that I can not just buy a modern select fire AR or even a Browning .50 cal MG is testament tot he fact that the government is already trampling on our rights.
