My daughter was making cookies last night and one batch got burned, same time & temp...OK maybe she made a mistake on the timer...next pan goes in and the next thing I know, my kitchen reeks of burnt sugar & flower and is very quickly getting smoky. I tell her to take them out and I shut the oven off, about a minute later the oven beeps, like I've never heard, and displays "F I", I crack the door and the bbottom element hotter than I've ever seen it. I turn the oven off again, it beeps again "F I" ... off to the basement to kill the breaker. Oven has fried itself...well crap . Luckily I have a couple propane burners, grills, and a pellet smoker to make tomorrow's dinner on.

Daughter sleeps in this morning, and comes out of her room with a look of WTF on her face...she just got off the phone with her best friend, she and her boyfriend were in an accident last night, and the boyfriend didn't survive. Absolutely devastating, this boy was a fantastic young man. Guess they were hit by a drunk driver. Please pray for their families.

Yeah, it's been ugly. They've had a Jekyll and Hyde thing going this season. Never know which team is going to show up.

The whole team just seemed flat today. Minshew was sacked 5 times and pressured almost every play. Receivers weren't getting open, and when they were, Minshew wasn't getting the ball to them. Jonathan Taylor was back today but he wasn't even a factor. They kept running him up the middle right into a brick wall. Defense never pressured their QB, and we had no answer for their running game.

Kolache mixed up and in the fridge (needs to be in there overnight) and butter cookies mixed up and chilling until the kids come Tuesday afternoon to bake with me. Supper is in the oven (smothered round steak). I have a rump roast thawing for tomorrow...just the two of us so no need to make a huge feast.

We opted to spend another night just so they can evaluate how the new meds are working out. It's still a mystery why she doesn't feel better.

No oven...no big deal. My daughter wanted to make bread for tomorrow. I went to fire up my smoker(aka easy bake oven) and it won't turn on...WTF...I break out the offset coal holders for the weber. I don't want to wait for tomorrow...it smells so good
