I suspect the investigation will reveal:
    1) they died in training
    2) by drowning

Unfortunately, these guys who operate on the edge of human limits, sometimes exceed those limits.
That training is how they appear "out of nowhere" and "disappear".

That they died in training makes them no less a hero in my book.

I can't imagine any foul play.

The best of the best. We expect more from these guys than 99.9% of people could conceive of training up to, and the training must be commensurate. Therefore it's gonna be dangerous. I am so grateful we have good guys willing to step up and take the risk. There may be hope for us yet. :patriot:

This statement is what prompted my curiosity.
Lloyd specified the accident did not involve diving, as preliminary reports stated. The pool is used specifically for Naval special warfare personnel to conduct physical fitness training.

I completely understand they do very dangerous training. A guess, was one had a medical issue and the other died or was critically injured trying to save his brother in arms.

It seems all but impossible for two SEAL's to drown while swimming laps.

They also do things like get thrown in while arms are tied behind them, and other fun stuff like that.
No dive tanks, not considered "diving".

Ironic you used those words...I'm reading Mark Owen's No Hero book right now. I've read a lot of the recent books by and about SEALS. Every book has further bolstered my respect for not just SPECOPs guys, but our armed forces as a whole.
