I've long held that if you need something identified, ask INGO.

Probably 3/16" in diameter, maybe 1/4".

Looks like a star-bit on the end:

And really REALLY unhappy about where I found it.

My 97 Ranger, 265-75-15 won't be in until Monday. Amazingly the 26 year old spare is still up. Getting it out from under the truck? A LOT of WD-40 was needed.

When I buy tires I get that. These came with the truck, 9 years ago.

9 years is a good run for a set of tires. I recommend to my sports car guys to swap tires out at 5 years, but even for general purpose tires 7-8 years is about as long as I trust the materials to stay fully laminated.

If you haven‘t purchased tires in a while you may want to prepare yourself for some sticker shock, wholesale prices are still near pandemic levels, even though supply seems to have recovered.

To say it's a low-mileage vehicle is a bit of an understatement. A 1997 with 156K, people keep wanting to buy it for some reason. $40K to replace it (I paid $3,800 in 2014) I'm planning to keep it forever.

Had to put 4 on my wife's CRV a while back (17" Bridgestones) that was a bit scary.

Generals (replacing 2) were a bit less than Firestones on it (although they are up to LE3 in the Destination tires, have LE2s on it.)

They are great trucks. I had two of them. Back when they were affordable.

    :)
I had a 2WD 1999 regular cab Ranger XLT from 2001-2013. It hydroplaned in a corner one morning my youngest was driving it to school. Hit a pole, air bags deployed. Last saw it at Diamond Collision.

Before that I had an 82 B2000 Mazda from 1990-2001. Paid $500 for it and drove that old thing all over the country.

$40K to replace the one I got (4X4 extended cab.) I'll keep this one.
