@actaeon277 and any others who work(ed) swing (rotating) shift. Resetting your body click twice a year because of DST no challenge after years of shift work? Doesn't bother me.
Changing from midnights to days was what stunk for me. Much better when we rotated from midnights to afternoons.
I spent about 20 years working 12 hour shifts working a 4 on 4 off schedule, shifting from days to nights every time. It screwed with you and your health and sleep patterns so much it became the norm to be perpetually tired.@actaeon277 and any others who work(ed) swing (rotating) shift. There is no place to insert purple!Nipsco just like those pesky gas station owners cashing in and making record profits. No possible way it could be directly tied to inflation and the state of our economy and don’t forget to mention the war on fossil fuels. (Insert purple where needed)
And of course they always wait until right before the holidays.Rate hike
What doesn’t kill you makes you stronger. Good job!And of course they always wait until right before the holidays.
True story. I bought my first house in 2004. Saved my money and made a budget and all of that. Things were tight for the first few months, but I was so proud of myself.
Then in November, two things happened. NIPSCO increased by 30%, and they also changed their billing schedule. So in December, I received a bill for 7 weeks instead of 1 month, and it also reflected the 30% increase. So instead of the usual $250, my NIPSCO bill was over $600.
I could have asked my mom to bail me out, but she never knew. I called NIPSCO and asked if I could pay them what I could and gradually pay back the rest. They said yes. I turned down the heat and cut off the cable. It took me about 4-5 months to do it, but I finally got back on track. That winter was a rough one. First winter in my new house and all I remember is being cold all the time.
I guess the moral of that story is to plan for the unexpected.
Perhaps this is an overstatement and should not be construed as representative of the opinions of all the NWI group.Hi there. Welcome.
