Good luck! Btw, are jedi you and the other north of 30 hammondite’s (pretty sure you said you were a hammond resident) surviving the great flood/sewer backup?? I know the pink one is pretty far south but figure three are others that might be affected and maybe use some help
    jedi is ok.
    No flood issue.
Suspect unless all of south hammond floods due to the calumet river spilling out jedi will be fine.

From what jedi can tell this property was built incorrectly as in it has a higher elevation that the rest of the area.

When it rains water goes north, south, east and west away from the property and into all the others. The property north gets its the worse.

Plus there is some weird 1950s "water system" in the basement. A huge "super Mario pipe" that holds like a pit of water but it's not a well. Seems to be like a pool of some type under the foundation.

When it rains the pool rises a bit and their is water movement. Eventually it stops moving and the water lowers.

That is not connected to the sewer/drain of the city. Unsure what it is and none of the properties around have it. Not has jedi ever seen it before.

Be careful and let it fully heal before doing anything major. YOu want to make sure the bone regrows properly around the femoral stem and the acetabular cup. You will likely be at reater risk of dislocating the hip at least until the healing process is complete. Please be sure to discuss with your doctor/physical therapist.
Thanks and will do. I've told people I don't plan on doing anything major yet. The grass was cut and fertilized yesterday so will be good for awhile. I just plan on walking on normal ground for now until a follow up appointment with advise. It feels good but I'm not going to push it. Home health is coming tomorrow to check on me an start in home therapy.

Cesspit? What happens when you flush>. Or drain the bathtub? Maybe yours is an old house of horrors - the previous owner maybe used it to drown his victims?

The toliets/tubs/sinks all are connected to the city sewer. There are 2 main city sewers connections in the basement one for the original house and one for the extension that was done later on.

But a cistern, by definition, collects rainwater to be reused. None of the house plumbing is using that water. It's all city water. The water in that hole does not move then the plumbing items (sink, tokiet) are used.

Plus all the gutters dump water away from the property. None of it goes into the ground so unsure how that hole gets its water. Ground water saturation??

Sounds like a sump pit without a pump. They must have another method of getting rid of the water.
