I am a new member to the board but I have been posting for a couple of weeks now and forgot to introduce myself. I really like this board and the fact everyone’s from Indiana makes it even better.
Anyways, Former Marine Infantry and Primary Marksmanship Instructor. I have trained thousands of recruits and officer cadets with the m16a1 and m9. I was on the 2nd Marine Division Rifle and Pistol Team and have shot in several matches including Eastern Division, Marine Corps Matches, Intersevice Matches, and the Nationals at Camp Perry. I was 6th award expert with both rifle and pistol. Was a member of a record setting long range team 1986 Interservice Matches (my score was 198 13x out 200) using an m14 and no scope. Yes you can shoot 1000 yards with out a scope just use the target frame as a reference.
I am hoping to find some shooting buddies and learn practical applications for CCW and Home defense. I do have some experience but that was some time ago and weapons and tactics do change and from what I read on this board many of you have a lot to offer and I want to be like a big sponge.
