A word or two on Background checks

There is much talk about expanding background checks toprivate sales between individuals; this would include private sellers at gunshows. Besides the many arguments you may have heard about this issue there isone overshadowing truth that the politicians won’t tell you.

THEY WON’T WORK, otherthan at gun shows there is no way to enforce this new requirement. If you havea gun and want to sell it to an individual or if you wish to purchase a gunfrom another individual but don’t want to submit to a background check who isgoing to know. Gun registry is not andwill not become part of the law, there is standing case law which forbids gunregistry and without a way for thegovernment to know who has what gun there is no way to trace who sold a gun to who.

Needless to say criminals aren’t going to worry too muchabout laws. There are many honest people in this country who don’t want to submitto a background check for reasons of their own, often just because they valuetheir privacy and don’t trust government. So as usual the new unenforceable regulation will only accomplish onething. Making criminals out of otherwise honest people.

Myself and the creator of Indiana Moms Against Gun Control had meetings with Sens Donnelly and Coats. I pointed this very fact out to them in our meetings. Senator Coats office got it, Donnelly on the other hand... well figure it out.

The whole gun control debate is pointless. Bad people do bad things. The very first assault weapon was a rock (Cain killed Able-look it up!). You cant regulate stupid. Free tshirt ideas.

I am always amazed at the arrogance of liberals. They believe that they, and only they, have the correct answers to everyones problems and to problems that don't even exist. They believe that they speak for everyone and that they have the right to trample on the rights of others. Their answer or remedy for every situation is to create a new law, rule, or regulation, or expand on an old one. They continue to believe this even though there is overwhelming evidence that creating new laws and restricting the rights of others does not work.

They believe they can build their idea of a safe, controlled, utopia through force and restriction and that everyone shares that same idea. Of course, should you disagree with their idea, you might be beaten into submission to see their point of view.

Their arrogance will not let them stop trying to impose their beliefs on others. This is why we need to be ever vigilant in protecting our rights and privacy.

I am sure that if liberals were on the maiden voyage of the Titanic and after hitting the iceberg, they would have drafted a rule stating that the ship should not sink. Only after the cold water reached their chins, they would have realized that they made a mistake with their new rule. They should have included that they should not get wet as well. (glub glub glub).

Liberal survive on the creation and solution( sorta) of made up problems. Its just like sales we used to say find a need and fill it but with liberals it create a problem, make it into a crisis and pass a law that won't solve the problem. That is why the tax code is over 7000 pages and Obama care is 2500 pages and doesn't come close to getting it right.

On of the biggest issues with liberals is that they don't gave a rat's A** about anyone else's rights but we as constitutional supporting conservatives continue to defend their rights with more fervor that our own.
Voltaire had a point but anything can be carried too far.

According to the authors, the bill exempted face to face transactions. It only applied to "advertised" situations. Advertised catches gun shows and stuff posted anywhere on the Internet. Face to face included giving to a friend, family member, or loans. Oh, and most criminal purchases. Obviously that was well thought out.
