Poll: What would most likely motivate a man to do the following:

    • Leave his family and friends
    • Cross an ocean
    • Strap a bomb to his chest
    • Murder a bunch of random civilians
    • And lose his own life in the process

Apparently nothing... I've yet to hear a report of a man strapping a bomb to his chest here in the USA?

He's been brought up from birth to believe the people on the other side of said ocean are enemies and should be killed. He's been promised eternal salvation, so to speak, for doing exactly that. It's been drummed into him his whole life. He sees others do these things, and they're celebrated among his people. Then, when those people on the other side of the ocean come over there and start kicking his people's ***es for it, everyone points to the dead and says "see? THEY are the bad guy! GO KILL THEM!"

Let's say that we didn't already have these preconceived ideas about current events. In the list that I presented, what seems like it would most likely motivate a man to do something like that?

I would put... because evil men who have something to lose in the face of American Occupation find it easy to recruit and indoctrinate the week minded and the desperate and exploit them for political and religious reasons. (which there is no shortage of in 3rd world countries)

Very similar to the way its easy for gangs to recruit in the inner city... or why so many prisoners find God. Because when you have nothing to live for, its easy to gravitate towards a "cause".

    Its human nature....

In scrawled notes made from his hospital bed,*Dzhokhar Tsarnaev, 19, told Guantanamo Bay interrogators that Tamerlan, 26, was motivated by the Iraq and Afghanistan wars and his belief that they represented an assault on his faith, according to reports.Read more:*Boston bombing investigation: Marathon bomber Dzhokhar Tsarnaev reveals they DID act alone | Mail Online us:*@MailOnline on Twitter*|*DailyMail on Facebook

Sounds like the terrorists of years past have mostly cited my last poll option as their motivation. Why do so many of us assume they are lying?

They hate us for the reasons youve listed, they blow us up mostly because they want us out of their land. IEDs werent that common until we invaded. Now they want to come here and send a message.

Bin Laden also felt the same way... he didn't do it because the Qu'ran or Allah told him it was what he was supposed to do. He was motivated by what he viewed were atrocities against his people.... He points to massacres in history at the hands of Zionists and viewed the USA as a collaborator to the Zionist cause thanks to our foreign policy in the region (specifically Israel).

He used fear and anger as a motivator and religion as a tool. The desperate gravitated toward the cause... It gave their lives a higher meaning and purpose.

I can go on posting these types of videos all day long. How will there ever be peace when their children are taught from day 1 that it's right and good to kill Jews and Americans?

Do you see our country devolving into similar types of indoctrination? (to a lesser degree)
