Stick with a glock. They are like fat chicks, not much to look at but you can call on them anytime and they will perform.
    Plus they aren’t high maintenance.
Man there just has to be the G**** response in a 1911 thread.
Why is it we seldom if ever do that in the numerous "G****" threads in the forum and when someone does I say the same to them.

If you like them fine. Get 5 or 9 of the damned things and enjoy them.

Some people have no taste. No sense of the difference between craftsmanship and mass production commodity items. Some actually think that an outdated cheap molded plastic pistol filled with stamped steel parts that needs a Dremel taken to it to get it to fit your hand qualifies as craftsmanship. :)

    Glocks:
Reliable? Yes. Effective? Yes. Trusted? Yes. Craftsmanship? Not in a million years.

Mind you, I still own and like my Glocks. I’d never mistake them for the work of a craftsman though.

Oh relax you grouch, it’s a simple poke fun. Why does everyone get so worked up about simple stuff. I have a couple 1911 platforms, they obviously work, go bang. Just not my slice of pie is all.
    Not worked up my brother.
But some poking is just out of place.
And yeah we are all on edge right now.

And just let me say if you guys had to deal with the new format and the influx of newbies you might just be a bit grouchy your selves. It has been a test.

I've only seen one plug for the Ruger SR1911 and it's a solid platform!
The Ruger is well designed...accurate...smooth...rugged...what's not to like about them?
I have a combination of Ruger, Chip McCormick, and Wilson magazines...and all perform just fine!
Interestingly, I recently held a Dan Wesson Guardian...and, dang, if that didn't have a really great feel to it!

A other vote for SR1911 CMD. Mine with some WC parts. (Anything that was OEM black nitride).

230 grain 45 ACP with a cast lead bullet is an easy cartridge to load, inexpensive, reliable shooting.

I've never had one that was not reliable.

Hell, I have a couple of Rock Island Armory 45s that run just fine..... despite what some may say of them.

One in particular runs better than many higher dollar 45s. Of course, it's guts have all been swapped out for Wilson Combat pieces.... ;)

I've got a few 1911s that are over 100 years old, they still shoot quite well, one even has a cavalry magazine from the same era. Someday there will be Glocks that old, maybe they will still be shooting, but today is not that day.;)

I also have an old RIA double stack, still in factory trim (before their barrels were ramped) and it is the only 1911 I have that has not had a bobble of some sort.

I carry a DW Valor Commander zero malfunctions eats anything you feed it.
I also have plastic pistols that have no souls!

BTW CM helped me pick out the right 1911.
