So I stopped in Speedway this morning to pick up a can of Copenhagen, and apparently Federal Law has changed, raising the minimum age for tobacco purchases to 21? How did I not hear of this, and how are all the 18 year old soldiers going to get their dip now before they head of to war? ****ing Nanny State mother****ers!!!!:xmad:

They've been talking about it on the news for the past month or so. That sudden uptick in the vaping illnesses/deaths was the (alleged) impetus for it.

Anyone serving in the Armed Forces should have the right to consume alcohol and tobacco if they so choose. Writing that check entitles them to be treated like adults.

One of Indiana's own congressman pushed this. I forget which none. I wrote to him several times expressing my displeasure about his support of this. More freedoms lost.

My little one is under 21, he is on deployment. They are allowed to drink according to the local laws of where they are at.
My Cpl can also have a certain amount of alcohol in his barracks room.
Some host countries are still 18...
Its disappointing they cant do it while here in the States.

If 18 is old enough to decide to serve then 18 is old enough to decide to smoke or drink.

FIXED. Some animals should not be more equal than others.
