Nearly two dozen people were shot at a gay bar in Oslo, Norway, early Saturday, leading officials to cancel the city’s annual Pride parade.

Reuters reported that the terrorist who allegedly committed the atrocity, which killed at least two people, was a “a 42-year-old Norwegian citizen of Iranian origin, was believed to be a radicalized Islamist.”

Prosecutor Christian Hatlo told reporters that the suspect was “known to the police” and had in the past been convicted of crimes. The Norwegian Police Security Service said that the suspect was on law enforcement’s radar due to concerns that he was part of an Islamic extremist network and that they had talked to him as recently as last month.

I guess mass shootings committed by bad people known to law enforcement isn't such a uniquely American problem after all.

I am confused by this whole thing... I just read the other day that mass shootings only happen here because the rest of the world doesn't have guns floating around everywhere. How could this happen?

Strange. Not a single mention of what kind of gun this poor fellow came into possession of that caused him to perform this terrible atrocity.

Even a little ol’ .22 short revolver can easily influence a weak minded individual. ALL guns can be evil, and the scary thing is, there’s no way to tell which one will snap. I even heard on cnn that almost 100% of guns actually believe there are only two genders! It’s crazy!

Our assessment is that this was an attack motivated by extreme Islamism. We are actively working to clarify the scope of the perpetrator’s ideological beliefs, and potential links to other Islamic extremists or extreme networks.”

Probably not something you’ll hear uttered by many government officials in this country anymore.

Surely not... with all of that peacefulness they believe in and all, there has to be another explanation.
