Steven Bixler will serve eight years in the idoc for the shooting death of 10yr old Savannah Ross. This is still fresh in my mind as it happened only a few miles from my parents house. I can't even imagine what her mother or even Steven Bixler are going through, just a tragic reminder of how it only takes one moment of stupidity to changes the lives of all around you forever.

What a tragic event that could have been prevented with a little thought. Obviously he didnt know how to handle the gun, otherwise he would have known it was loaded. I really don't understand why you would point a gun at someone in the first place. Every gun should be treated as loaded. ALWAYS!! 8 yrs is a long time but its nothing compared to the young life he took away.

That is absurd. No way in hell you PLAY with a real gun, even a muzzleloader. $50 bucks says he stuck the primer on there so it would go "pop" and scare them more. Idiot...

That Judge needs to be run out of town on a rail. 8 Years for killing a little girl is not even a slap on the wrist. I know guys that have gotten more than that for a couple of DUI's...and they didn't kill anyone.
