I recentley picked up a MAK90 SN starts with 93 looking to replace with standard AK stock and pistol grip. Is this compatible? Where would I find the furniture to do this? Is it really better to switch or keep the thumbhole stock?

This is my first AK and I would really appreciate the feedback.

I'd switch it. First you'll need to remove the stock and see if it's a slant or straight cut before you order anything. If you want pretty wood contact combloc customs

The guy running the show over there will walk you through what you'll wanna buy and give you some finishing options. Most Maks were more of a blonde or honey color (some were super dark though), but you can do whatever you want. My next one will be done in "iodine orange".

It is a straight cut receiver, I believe. It has a thumbhole stock and forearm guards that are a honey color.

Just remember, Norincos used thicker metal in their receivers so if you buy a European stock you will have to do some filing to get it to fit, but it can be done.
