Did they verbiage really try to sound sad that the person with the GSW was classified as a suspect and not a victim, and that the shooter was classified as the victim and not a suspect?

Or am I reading this with too little caffeine?

Yeah, I think the Star is a little surprised about that. Screw them.

The report does classify the wounded man and his apparent partner as suspects, however, and it designates Orr and Ellis as victims.

    Sounds about right...

They also inspected Orr’s firearm and found he has a valid permit, the report states.

Reckon the "suspects" will be found to have a valid "permit"?

Glad the victims are both safe and the man was armed to protect himself.

Good thing the thug was a bad shot since he got off the first shot.
True he got off the first shot, but he was already drawn and probably crapped down his leg when he saw the victim had a gun too. I'd rather take my chances drawing my weapon, then hope the guy doesn't execute me after taking my stuff. jmo:dunno:

We need more stories like this . It's two fold , one it shows guns in the hands of law abiding citizens can save lives and it shows the animals who prey on society that sometimes a sheep dog bites back

I hope they find the other guy too. Perhaps the criminals need to spend more time on the range and less time stealing from others?

I would be quite content for the criminal NOT to spend more time at the range, and then they could spend vastly more time in a dirt nap.
