I just saw that. A House rifle is and has always been the Holy Grail for me. I bought a beautiful SW Virginia style rifle 18 years ago built by Mike Davis under Hershel's direction that is a dead ringer for a Woodbury School rifle. That is probably as close as I'll ever get to owning an actual House rifle.

RIP Hershel.

I've heard about, and read about Mr House since I was a kid running around Friendship, pretty sure I met him once, just a legend in the muzzle loading community, not too many guys like him around anymore, inline BP guns have killed the traditional gun makers...

I’m not really a hard core BP guy, but I have heard of him. Sad to see him go.
