The part I find so funny (not funny-funny, bizarre-funny) is liberal folks I follow on social media advocating taking up arms and bloody insurrection to overthrow the government if this ruling comes to pass. Wow that tide turns fast.

And BTW, why was it not My Body My Choice when everyone had to strap on face masks but suddenly when the right to murder an unborn child is threatened they're chanting slogans outside the court... Wearing no masks nonetheless?!?

    .
    I suspect:
1: A leftist liberal female clerk that is slit-her-wrists upset over this literally antichrist level decision.
2: An overexcited/overzealous conservative clerk overjoyed.

    My money is on #1.

This is dc remember, and this is a hot button issue that big media use to shout all the rest of the countries issues back under the rug. Dem strategist bought this, and would have paid anything for it.

    Always follow the money

Smart move on the part of dem strategists, provides a unifying issue to run on in the fall.

They have to throw anything and everything at it.

With inflation/economy/fuel prices/crime the way they are from just a year of the dems in charge, they know they are in deep :poop::poop::poop:.

Can't recall the thread exactly, but Alpo was bringing up the SCOTUS ruling on Roe issue months ago when we were discussing them ruling on 2A issues. Alpo knows his dems...

Ukraine obviously wasn't getting all of everyone's attention... No I'm leaning towards leftist clerk. They will be disbarred, then employed for life by CNN/MSNBC or part of various Soros funded orgs.

I'm betting on the lefist clerk also but perhaps, just maybe, with a nod from Sonia Sotomayor. The NY Times called her a "student activist" so she has the background for this type of thing.

Regardless I don't think we'll ever know. There is no controlling body over the court to order an investigation and they're not likely to want the PR or risk of ordering a public investigation themselves.

    Sounds sensational. We'll see.

From the most objective, strict constructionist perspective, all rights not explicitly stated in the constitution are enumerated to the states. Abortion is not in the constitution. Medical privacy is not in the constitution (an oversight in my opinion). Thus, feds are hands off and states decide for themselves.

I was a big believer in Roe for the longest time, from a bodily autonomy and medical privacy perspective. I believe those things deserve to be protected. Then, the last two years happened, and the left proved they don't give a rats butthole about those principles except in the context of justifying abortion. This SCOTUS protected my right to work when Biden tried to shove his nose into my private employment and private medical choices. So... who's on my side?

Wonder what the "floor" will be. Total bans at the state level acceptable? Maximum weeks cutoff?
I agree with upholding the 9th and 10th amendments. I also agree with protecting bodily autonomy, which is why I'm opposed to legalized taking of the life of autonomous human bodies.

I have a bad feeling this will really rile up the dems and fence sitters in fear of not being able to kill their offspring on demand. Had pretty high expectations with how bad the economy is going for normal people plus the full on invasion at the border. This may turn the tide. :-/

Prepare yourselves for the hysterics and hyperbole.
    Truth here…

Wouldn't the final decision be published in June, regardless? If so, how does a leak in May help the fall elections?

Remember those Midterms that Republicans were sure they were going to wipe?

That is my worry as well. This will be a huge issue that will inflame liberal turnout at the midterms and keep us in total-level socialist control as the Dems keep the House and Senate. I actually would have strongly preferred the court not overturn Roe v. Wade b/c of this. Doing so will help the Democrat party for quite some time to come.

I'm not so jaded to favor the continued legalized murder of unborn human beings, so that we might preserve a political majority - especially considering that there is little meaningful difference between the Republican-Democrat Uniparty inside the beltway.

It is just what the dems needed, a distraction from all the things we discuss here. They will unify, energize, and galvanize their demoralized voters. They will keep focused on one issue. We on the other hand are always bickering over a dozen different issues and whether or not to vote for libertarian candidates to make a statement.

If we want to speculate about justices being in on the leak, don't overlook Roberts.

He doesn't want to overturn Roe vs Wade.

I read a great article on just this. The author pointed out that the Roe decision gave conservatives the reasonable ground and forced dems into always defending the worst, like partial birth abortion. now that pendulum will swing the other way with this decision.

    Though I personally welcome it…

I can’t even believe the cognitive dissonance when Biden comes out and says this after what we have seen .gov do with vaccine mandates the past 2 years

"First, my administration argued strongly before the Court in defense of Roe v. Wade. We said that Roe is based on 'a long line of precedent recognizing ‘the Fourteenth Amendment’s concept of personal liberty’… against government interference with intensely personal decisions,'" Biden said.

This could influence primaries today as well. Even if in a bright red state unless it’s a locked primary then libs could vote for rinos to knock out good conservatives from the general election and either get a Democrat in at best (for them) or a RINO at worst which is still a W for them on the many occasions that a RINO would cave and vote with them.

Plus it gives them the months needed to make people :poop: themselves over abortion more than everything else floundering in this country.
