    Introduced (Jan 11th) into the Senate by "Malarkey" Markey (D-Mass.) and the House by "Head Scarf" Raskin (D-Maryland). This bill is insidious. Its provisions would make simply going to the range and shooting at a silhouette target illegal. Going to a school board or city council meeting to remonstrate would become illegal if an official there takes umbrage with your comments. Walk around your neighborhood, armed or not, and you're illegally "patrolling." It would ban any "Neighborhood Watch" groups. Citizens' Arrests are outlawed -- forbidding any citizen from detaining or holding someone committing a crime until law enforcement arrives . . . or doing anything to defend yourself as you're now acting as "Law Enforcement".

    The provisions are so ambiguous and egregious it becomes the embodiment Stalin's KGB Chief, Lavrenty Beria's infamous quotation: "Show me the man, and I'll show you the crime!"

    The gist of its prohibited activities are contained in this section of the bill introduced in the House and Senate:
    It shall be unlawful to knowingly, in a circumstance described in subsection (b), while acting as part of or on behalf of a private paramilitary organization and armed with a firearm, explosive or incendiary device, or other dangerous weapon—
    (1) publically patrol, drill, or engage in techniques capable of causing bodily injury or death;

    (2) interfere with, interrupt, or attempt to interfere with or interrupt government operations or a government proceeding;
    (3) interfere with or intimidate another person in that person’s exercise of any right under the Constitution of the United States;
    (4) assume the functions of a law enforcement officer, peace officer, or public official, whether or not acting under color of law, and thereby assert authority or purport to assert authority over another person without the consent of that person; or
    (5) train to engage in any activity described in paragraphs (1) through (4)
    If you engage with a home invader and hold them for the police to arrive, even if you don't use a firearm to do it, you've now committed a Federal Felony, you're going to prison, you're forfeiting all your firearms, and forfeiting your right to have any for life. The kind of training Guy Relford teaches becomes illegal. Additional provisions not quoted effectively ban all magazines holding more than 10 rounds.

    Given his past, this is just the kind of bill Senator Todd Young would vote for.

    Entire bill as introduced by Senator "Malarkey" Markey

    Does it exempt private or call "licensed" security criminal as well?
    How about corporate police departments?
    Yea, this needs to be called out. It violates quite a few states constitutions, ours included(not to mention the federal constitution).

    Maybe Hollywood and the Swells will have to be on our side for this one, as it would ban bodyguards and private security/executive protection firms.
    These lawmakers need to look in the mirror when they read clause 3 from the above excerpt. The irony is heavy, indeed.

    It completely reduces "Well Regulated Militia" to nothing but National Guard units.
    Boing! We'll call it the "Writing the 1939 Miller Decision Into Legislation" act:

    1. Only the Militia can have guns.

    2. (Bonus Amendment): The Militia is hereby outlawed.

    Done! 2A repealed. Next topic?

    It effectively makes anything resembling "law enforcement" by anyone except actual law enforcement (i.e. PD, sheriff, 3-letter federal agency) a felony.

    My guess without reading the entire bill is that they likely don't define what a private paramilitary organization is, nor what it means to act on behalf of one.

    This is the kind of thing that tar and feathers is reserved for. If this kind of gross unconstitutional attempt doesn't warrant swift and tangible (non-violent) consequences levied by the people these cretins allegedly represent, then I don't know what does.

    Nope -- WHO defines what constitutes a "private paramilitary organization"? It's a Federal Prosecutor with a wild hair up his ass who has decided to target someone with a charge of some kind because of something they posted on Facebook, Twitter, or YouTube. Colion Noir is going down immediately! Are you a member of the NRA? GOA? FPC? SAF? NAGR? All can be defined by the government as "paramilitary organizations".

    They only define what it isn't:
    * Government law enforcement agencies (local, state or federal)
    * U.S. Armed Forces including Reserves
    * National Guard units
