My family was heading to Bass Pro Shop in Clarksville this afternoon. We saw a couple vehicles pulled off of 65. As we passed, we noticed a commotion in the bean field. A guy was video taping with his cellphone about 10 feet away from two bucks who had locked their antlers while fighting. Looked like another guy was retrieving something to try to free them. The bucks were fairly good size. They were still trying to free themselves, but looked rather tired. I wish we could have stopped and watched. I have seen deer spar on video, but I've never seen a sight like that in person before. It was pretty cool. Hope nobody got hurt. Wonder if the video will hit YouTube.

I knew a guy in Florida (big guy, 6 ft 200+ lbs) that tried to free a buck that had gotten it's antlers entangled in his fence. After he freed it, and got out of the emergency room he said never again. Wish I could see the outcome of the roadside match up.

Sign in and have at it.
Couldn't enter it in any records though..............wasn't taken in "fair chase".
Getting venison and or antlers, and hunting deer.....they aren't always the same thing

Your tag is good for one.

    Could shoot one and separate.

If you want both locked together, that would be two in possession.............better have a permit for the 2nd.

The question then comes to light, should you pass on this shot all together? Should you call the DNR to come before shooting at all?

It'd probably be easier to untangle them if they were both dead LOL.
Two locked bucks would be a hunting season novelty.
Not a fair chase hunt though.

If both alive, call the DNR. Maybe they can free them.

If one is dead, call the DNR.............maybe they can free it. Or......... shoot the living one, then call the DNR.
I wouldn't let the animal suffer.

Dragging a dead deer around, the living one is easy pickin's for yotes or domestic dogs. I'd rather burn my tag on that stressed out surviving buck than let him die by yotes.
