How Do You Update An Xbox Game?

I'm trying to update Madden '12 and for the life of me I can't figure it out.

I'm connected to the internet and I thought that when an update is available, when you put the game in it automatically asks if you want to update the rosters. It hasn't ever done that on this one and I've gone through every option and can't find a manual update.

Ask him if it's something that isn't super-easy or if I'm just overlooking it. There has to be an option for it somewhere within the game or on the xBox dashboard and I just can't find it.

My buddy and I are currently in the middle of a game because I got frustrated looking for it, but I figured I'd start this thread and hope I'd have some info before the game is over.

it usually asks u to update if your on xbox live if im not mistaken.... modern warfare 3 updates every time i sign on and play

It's usually automatic. There might be some mechanism for doing it manually in the game controls, but I've never run across it in any of my games. Maybe something in the console section will let you do it?
