As storefronts were being smashed in, monuments were being vandalized, fights were breaking out and fires were being set across Downtown Indianapolis and all across the nation (i.e. riots), Indianapolis Mayor Joe Hogsett was absolutely nowhere to be found.

This is what I recall.
Riots, looting, vandalism Friday. He said he negotiated with organizers Saturday to carry on and end protests at 7:30 pm. There was riots, looting, vandalism, a murder Saturday.
The governor called in the national guard to secure state property. Hogsett was silent, watching a dumpster fire with a bottle of gin. Then he blamed IMPD for not securing downtown.
Butthurt protesters called the mayor's office because they got tear gas in their eyes. He said it's IMPD's fault and deferred them to the prosecutors office, the same prosecutor that decriminalized the mayor's son's drug of choice.
