i say if the "poor victim" hadn't been committing a crime to begin with...

all across the nation police are quitting or retiring early, this is why.

instead of prosecuting criminals for the greater safety of us all, he is going after the police.

to quote a great comedian..."i hope everything bad that can happen, happens to you."

So they’re gonna start going back in time and charging officers for shootings which occurred years before (and were cleared of criminal wrongdoing) with no new evidence, just a new woke perspective. This type of ******** isn’t going to end well.
no...it isn't. and we're the ones who will suffer.

i think this will start the ball rolling for idiot prosecuters to do the same across the country. there will soon be a mass exodus of LE.

why would the prosecutors & courts go along with this? why is the legal system pandering to people who contribute very little, if anything, to society as a whole?

they're building their socialist base. the only ones who will benefit will be the "just enoughs" who feel as though WE owe them what they refuse to work for.

meanwhile this f****r will be protected by armed security.

i'm not even going to pretend i lost mine in a boating accident.

i had to read this a few times to really see that the law maker's are in such a hurry to protect the criminals that they don't even take the time to read their own bills. the champion of the new laws didn't realize how assinine they are.

at least he has the b***s to admit how confused he is.

He actually said this: Ellison said, “I don’t know all the evidence. I have not even listened to the tape. But I was like, ‘Wow. Wow.'”

Sounds like a Dan Rather moment. He`s not after justice, he`s after a notch on his belt.

I`ve said often that there are cases where police have been blatant in their overzealous and criminal handling of suspects, and they need to be held accountable. The floyd case was NOT one of those, and in fact, MOST of the cases don`t fit that circumstance. We`re ALL due fair and impartial justice, but none of us are entitled to extra special justice. The facts have to be presented in every case, and justice delivered as prescribed by law. Period. Doesn`t matter WHO you are, not your title, uniform or position. Police have the right to defend themselves same as us, and police are burdened with an additional duty, that of protecting the public. Political correctness is poisoning EVERY aspect of this society and culture.

    yes yes.

the police are under no legal or moral obligation to protect the public. that alone makes me respect the good cops even more.

i have had several interactions with LE in my younger days, i tried to say it was racial. no matter how hard i tried i couldn't cry racism. i was doing dumb s***.

was racism in the minds of the police i interacted (negatively) with? quite possibly. but if i wasn't doing dumb s***, odds are i wouldn't have been on their radar. that was a lesson from my mother (may her pot never boil over)

the attacks on LE are driven by people who, due to the priviledges afforded them from proffessional, economic, or social standing, have few negative contacts with LE. when they do it is because of breaking the law themselves and then they say "see? i told you so."

And maybe the cops shouldn't have been cleared of wrongdoing in the first place. Shot 10 times, 5 in the head, sounds like an execution to me.

but....the premise of self responsibiltily (and by extension, self preservation) says "don't do stupid s*** and stupid s*** won't happen to you".

no matter what (current) public opinion, the law, or PC says, you are stupid if you challenge a m*****f****r with a gun.

We`ve ALL done dumb stuff, and we`re lucky if we got to walk away and hopefully learn something positive from it, like, don`t do dumb stuff anymore.
I just have a hard time trying to have any respect for people who don`t grow, and learn, regardless of where they came from. I grew up in a large family in Fountain Square, way back before it was "cool" to love there. Our family was as dysfunctional as ANYTHING you`ve ever seen or heard about. A good many of the people I knew growing up have either died or have been in prison. For all the dumb stuff I did, I was very blessed to not end up in bad situations, and end up going down those dark roads. I was able to learn from my circumstances and actions and make better choices. If a person chooses to NOT learn, and to NOT make better choices, it`s on THEM.

I would have to see all the data on that one, like how many guns involved. One time hunting with 8 people I saw a rabbit turned into a sack of lead because everybody was shooting at it.

    .
One question. Who got to keep the rabbit?

Not me, there was more lead and less rabbit. In the end people were still shooting at the rabbit even though it was the impact of the shot that was moving it around.;)

My point to the post was that something can get hit with a lot of bullets in a short period of time depending on the number of shooters.

The current reform movement defies logic.
Our criminal justice system has worked for a long time.

    1. commit crime
    2. get caught
    3. bail
    4. trial or plea deal
    5. punishment
    6. don’t do it again

    Bail is for people that
    1. have money or assets
    2. will not skip out
    3. limited criminal history
    4. not a threat to society

Punishment should fit the crime so they won’t do it again.

Mental illness is a huge factor. Our facilities to treat severe mental illness have been dismantled. So a large part of our prison population is mentally ill.

there will soon be a mass exodus of LE.

There's no "soon". It started. People are retiring early, leaving for more rural/friendlier locations, or just changing fields. The number of applicants has dropped dramatically. Like less then 10% of what it used to be. Guys used to complain about the pay, but just like soldiers pay isn't why they put their butts on the line. Now the complain about 'the climate', and people aren't willing to risk their lives and freedom for a society they don't believe wants them.
