I'm amazed by the way the French people protest their governments activities.

The protesters are trying to prevent the French parliament from approving a bill that would raise the retirement age from 60 to 62 to help prevent the pension system from going bankrupt. Many workers feel the change would be a dangerous step in eroding France's social benefits — which include long vacations, contracts that make it hard for employers to lay off workers and a state-subsidized health care system — in favor of "American-style capitalism."​

I'm amazed that they took time away from their vacations and wine sipping to go protest.

It's October, not August.

The late summer is for vacation, the fall is for protest, the winter is for holiday and travel, the spring is for protest/vacation/travel.

Oh please. Protesting doesn't take gonads when those you are protesting against are civilized and never attack you. They are trying to protect their government handouts using precisely the same emotional outbursts as an adolescent and don't care that they are hurting many that had nothing to do with the decision to actually be fiscally responsible.

The French are protesting against their own countrymen, so how big do their gonads really have to be?

I am abit more inclined to say that these protest have more to do with just sabatoging that corrupt POS, Sarkozy..... He's like a French Hitler, but with reverse desires.

They will reach a tipping point in the future (as will many other countries) when the ones working to pay for all these are of a different culture than the native French. How long will they wish to continue keeping all these people up. Then it will come to an end and they will really have something to cry about.

France is a perfect example of why socialism doesn't work and what happens when you let it go too long. Greece would be another example.
