    Anyone able to tell the difference? These things fortunately are not in the house but in and around the baby pool.
    They seem to be able to swim but....
    Lord let they not be Terminates. There are Alot Of them
    Anyone know??

    Yeah, we had a small hatch of flying ants last week here. Nothing to worry about. Only lasted a day or two and nothing since. Oh and it's "termites", not "terminates"... :stickpoke:

    Ants. Termites don't have a narrowed body section.
    Yep, that is one easy distinction between them. You can easily see the three body sections of an ant.
    Also, ants have the "elbow" bend in their antennae, and termites have a straight thread-like antennae.
    And the third difference: Ants have two sets of wings, and they are different lengths. Termite wings are much longer than there bodies and all the same length.

    Termites usually swarm earlier in the year and as was mentioned have a thicker body section.
