Not necessarily by LEOs, just in general. I've been asked twice so far this week at a BP and at a Walmart. Nothing became of it, the people who asked were just curious. Whenever or wherever I decide to OC, I make it a point to dress casually but respectably. (shirt tucked in, no attention-grabbing attire, etc.). I believe overall appearance is key in putting most people at ease. Though I recall reading a post where the OP was lectured by an LEO at a Noblesville McD for purportedly appearing to be an LEO by virtue of his dress and choice of holster.

I mostly CC but occasionally OC. I have never understood people coming up to someone who is OCing and start asking them questions or making comments. How rude. None of their business.

Did he have a Glock in a Safariland holster? Is that considered impersonating an officer, really?

PS, if someone asks if you are a cop, they may be planning on calling the police (in ignorance) if you say "no", so maybe it is better to inform that you are licensed, rather than answer their question directly.

    That might've been it.

I did answer "no sir", but followed up with being licensed to carry. The guy just nodded. nothing else was said after that.

Been offered LE discounts a few times. I just decline. Though, the business offering has given me the discount a few time "Just because you are carrying".

Before I decided to just let the beard go, I was asked a few times. I always replied with "Nope, just a licensed law abiding citizen." Now that I have the beard, I haven't been asked once.

I've never been asked but I've had people assume. I've been asked what department I was with and I usually just saw that I'm just a regular citizen.

It has been my experience that children, small ones especially, notice more often.
They are by nature more curious of their surroundings, but more importantly, they are at eye level to an adults waistband. Your firearm is at eye-level to them.

Imagine if people walked around with a pistol in a "shoulder" holster. Carrying a pistol on TOP of their shoulder, at YOUR eye-level. You would notice it really fast too.

I always just tell people "no, I'm not LE, but I am licensed to carry."

I've been asked while checking a pistol at the casino.

A couple of times in stores, but it doesn't happen vary frequently. Most people are to busy to notice what's going on around them, let alone notice any details about someone.
